Only one of those is more than a foot off the ground, and for all we know, he just exited the top of a big oak with it.

But, I'm telling you, they're not flying off with anything over 2 lbs.

I'm just saying, there's a conspicuous lack of photos of hawks up in the air carrying squirrels. I have hundreds of videos where I could freeze them at the right moment, and get a "photo" of a hawk "carrying" a squirrel. Two seconds later, they were on the ground. I have falconer/photographer friends who have photos. But, they weren't flying with the squirrel. They caught it and glided to the ground.

Then why are you arguing with me, bruh?

They eat on the ground.
This is the statement you disagreed with.

Hawks carry off dogs/cats/small children.
I'm going to side with the resident hawk master as to the abilities of hawks.

I get all worked up because I've had to argue with people about hawks carrying off beagles too many times.
But, just as a reference, the traps used by most falconers to trap red tails weigh around 3lbs (if you buy one and don't make your own). These traps just snag the hawk's feet. They're free to fly off with it if they can, but they can't.

A Red Tail will take small dogs and cats.

I agree the physics just don't match and redtail hawks are not carrying off most cats and dogs. It is possible for it to occur with some of the teacup dog breeds and with kittens often weighing less than 2 lbs. However, I think most people are poor at bird identification and have seen pics like the ones below and believe it applies to all big birds of prey.

Certainly an eagle though right? I've seen videos of those Mongolian guys hunt w/golden eagles & it's truly a beautiful sight, primitive hunting, just a bunch of bad asses. I'm talking wolves getting taken out

Yep, you're probably right about that. A lot of times, even the photos of the larger BOP's are misleading. You see photos of eagles carrying goats, but don't realize that the goat is a 5lb baby and the eagle just dragged it off a ledge and glided down. Or, like the photo of the barred owl and cat in your photo, where the owl probably just hit the cat for being near it's nest, and it jumped into the air. Although larger owls like GHO's can carry fairly large animals. Osprey are pretty impressive in what they can carry. But, they had to evolve to carry their prey because they can't exactly eat it on the water.
But yeah, my only point was that hawks aren't carrying off dogs or cats, unless they're small puppies or kittens.

So many post about "culling bucks. Some say not before 3.5, some say 4.5. Others say if you wait past .5 then they may have already bred and you aren't solving anything.

- Deer, dogs, whatever see in black and white. --They may not have the full spectrum of humans but it isn't black and white. Closer to yellows and blues.
- Chiggers are insects that burrow in the skin and you should apply clear nail polish to the affected areas to smother them. -- They're arachnids/mites that do not burrow and applying nail polish only makes you shiny.

btw this video seems to indicate that the hawk first flew with the tree rat up to its nest prior to gliding back down.

same with this video unless the rabbit was up on the fence to begin with
