My vote has to go to Rex. Absolutely the worst parade of all carnival season. Horrible floats and they hardly throw anything. The krewe must think history and "prestige" compensates for being old dusties who put on an absolutely horrible parade.

Rex doesnt throw much but contrary to what you said, the floats are nice. Proteus is just lame as shite and no one wants to be there.

Next has been putting on a better show than I expected the last couple years and I love muses. I have no clue what you are talking about.
Also the parade route is always chock full of groups of females waiting to see their friends pass.

Rex is actually a very nice parade to look at. You don't catch hardly anything, of course. But the floats generally are nice. Not flashy, but traditionally nice.
Proteus is pretty bad. Morpheus is pretty bad.
I would say with the exception of Carrollton, the entire first weekend is subpar parades. The worst probably this year was Freret, followed closely by Pygmalion and Pontchartrain.
However, all of these are superkrewes compared to the garbage that Comus put forth in the 80s. It was horrific.
And... the worst Orleans parade is better than probably all of the Jefferson Parades with the exception of Caesar and maybe Excalibur.

I ride in the Centurion parade which I know is not New Orleans but Metarie and we throw a ton of stuff and very nice stuff as well. Floats are decent and we had 20 this year.

Freret is a disgrace, you're right. It's a bunch of shite Loyola kids threw together at the last second. Easily the worst parade.

I never was a fan of Rex. They used to have the worst throws of any parade and were overly hoity toity.
They have gotten better throws over the year, but my compared to all the other super krewes, they are the worst.
But they are better than almost all the minor krewes the first few weeks.

Yes, Thoth is the most underrated parade. Tons of floats, good throws, good bands, not too early not too late so kids and drunks alike can enjoy it.
