Why does Lafayette not produce more talent?

It is bigger than Monroe and about the same size as Shreveport. Both of those city produce more recruits. Even lake Charles often manages to produce more talent.
Why are schools like more like Acadiana, Comesux, Tuerlings, and STM not putting out players every year?
Forgot about Northside.

Why is my D bigger than all of my friends? Some questions are better left unanswered.

Same could be said for Alexandria. Smaller than Laffy, but almost never produces D1 football talent. The kid who played for OU is the last one I remember, and Blake Miller is the last LSU player, unless I'm forgetting somebody. Quite a bit of basketball and baseball talent, though.

Lafayette has produced some pretty significant names on the diamond through the years.

Well have you seen the athletic facilities at the public schools in lafayette? Way behind the rest of the state. Waaay behind. Its an embarrassment. You could say that they lack these facilities to make the academic side of the schools better, but you can't say that either. The roads suck. As a matter of fact, this makes me wonder where exactly my taxes are going. But that's an entirely different issue all together. Often times when Lafayette does get a big time recruit though he goes to LSU. I can't remember the last time LSU wanted a kid from here and he went elsewhere. Can't say that about most places, even Baton Rouge.

And yet Louisiana produces more D1 and NFL players per capita then any other state.

I think you have all these private schools that were created with less than adequate coaching. Look at the difference of NISH from the 1980s until now. There's no Etienne, Raymond, Ausberry, Moses, and the parish: Derwin Antione ( Loreauville) and so many more being coached-up. This is an embarrassment to me and surely the Acadiana community being a 1986 graduate from New Iberia. Sorry for reveling on New Iberia and Iberia parish.

Here's Tuerling's starting LBers.

Shreveport is much larger than Lafayette and Monroe does not produce more talent than Lafayette. Your all time Monroe team would get ran over by Kevin Faulk.
