re: USA TODAY article " Q&A With LSU Head Coach Les Miles"

It is why LSU was losing to A&M 7-6 at half. It is simply not the offensive play calling when you have open receivers badly overthrown 5 times in a half. WTF do you think an OC is going to do when this happens? He is going to call plays which he feels his inaccurate QB can run. Its cause and effect.
we should have destroyed a&m. this kind of game, this late in the season, is the sole reason I fear our O next year. at least his passes were so bad they couldn't be intercepted.
we are all extremely frustrated that our QB situation has been so damn horrible for quite awhile now. it wouldn't bother me a bit if and when BH starts to implode next year if Miles switches to another QB. imo, a serviceable qb is one that can at least complete a damn screen pass.

Don't like that he is blaming injuries on losing to Bama. Every team has them and especially going into November.
Exactly what I thought after reading, even if true (which I believe we did have some key players injured that may have made a big difference in the 3 games we lost) you just cant use that excuse when you are the head coach at a program like LSU! Do you really think we beat Bama even with those guys, we were dominated in basically every aspect of the game.
Those players may have made enough of a difference in the Ark and OM games but i doubt it. Those games were a result of a pathetic game plan, execution and mental toughness from the players. HCM needs to get the swagger back and the only way that happens is to beat the teams you should beat and then finally break the Bama stranglehold on the SEC. One win against Bama next year and i dont think anyone else can stop LSU the rest of the way. It could be the catalyst to a 3-4 year title contending / winning run that we've all been waiting and praying for!!!!
Heres to a great 2016 for our TIGERS!!!!!

First off Les is responsible for our crappy QB play the last 11 years. Met helped us out due to crazy circumstances.
But like it or not the coaches wanted to throw more last year but when your qb is inaccurate and you have a better option you take it.
AND injuries DID HURT us near the end of the season.

Bama is so irrelevant today that to ask an opposing head who has lost to them 6 times in a row (one of which is a national championship game) is deemed an instigator?
Bama is the elephant in the room and national pundits finally see that bama is the only thing sitting between LSU and multi championships.

I found two things interesting. Brandon as a Junior will be the 2nd QB that Cameron has had coming back for a 2nd year. Now I've seen several 1st year QBs light it up elsewhere so it's not an excuse, but if Brandon can make the improvement Mett did- look out.
Also Les said, "we're not going to cheat." I wonder if he's implying that some others ARE cheating?

Don't expect anything to change next year. He said we'll pass more in this article, and he said the same thing last year too. He's stubborn, and he admits it.
thats what i took from it... no changes and he blamed injuries for loses... thats a joke..

8 games into a season, everyone has injuries. The fact that we cannot adjust or adapt to those injuries is whats alarming. This to me is why when you play the rent a wins, you get your starters out at the half and you work on things offensively, not just hand the ball off 25 times in a row to melt the clock. Then later in the year, when you have injuries, these replacements have some experience running the full offense not just the toss dive

couldnt agree more... but Les isnt going to change. I hope they win the NT and he retires.. and if he doesnt win the whole damn thing with next years team he should be fired... Just time to move on..

The staff tried to come out high pass/run vs a couple teams, but stopped after execution was shite and at no point do you put victory in jeopardy with "practice".

What team should be better than LSU in the SEC next year?
Bama? - Loses entire defense and DC, loses RB and QB
Auburn - Dumpster Fire
Ole Miss - Loses many upperclassman, could have 3 first rounders
Miss St - Loses their only player in Preskott
TAMU - Loses their QB's and they are a dumpster fire
Arkansas - Loses their 3 top defenders, their QB, RB and 3 Lienman
Now the East.
Georgia - New Coach
SC - New Coach
Florida - New QB
Tennessesse - Should be good
Face facts, he has under performed with what he has and has mismanaged many common sense decisions. Brandon Harris should have started the rest of the 2014 season to help out with this last season. How many more excuses are you going to make for Miles? Fact is he should win the whole damn thing or at the very minimum be in the Playoff with an SEC title.

Les WILL NOT allow our offense to change. If he loses 3-4 games with all this talent it should be his head, and he should be fired.
Hopefully Harris can improve over the off season and develop touch, and start using audibles to get out of obvious run plays.

Les will not be the LSU coach in 2017. I truly believe he's to dumb to see the writing on the wall.

Unfortunately, I tend to agree. He is the luckiest coach alive. He walked into a goldmine set up by Nick Saban. He won a national championship with a 2-loss team. The two losses were to lower ranked teams, one at home, when the national championship was on the line. He was utterly destroyed in New Orleans by Saban and Bama for the whole world to see. He has not shown that he can develop a QB. It seems to me he plays to not lose rather than to win. He was taking his farewell tour on the field with his family and the crowd was robustly thanking him for the memories. The incompetent LSU hierarchy took the crowd's response for meaning the fans wanted him to return.
Despite all the negative vibes, Lucky Less has seen everything set up for a great run in 2016, which will be the ultimate up/down vote for Les Miles as head coach at LSU. He returns 18 starters, he only lost one junior to the draft, he has a top 5 recruiting class. He plays Bama and Ole Miss at home. He has a junior QB and a Heisman candidate at RB. He has a stable of RBs and WRs. He has no excuses whatsoever. It is put up or shut up.
Every year I have watched Les at LSU, he has fumbled opportunity at some point during the year. Every year, bar none. Many will say, but he won a national championship. I will say, by the grace of God. With the national championship game on the line for each, Les had two loses to lower ranked teams that he never should have lost to. And then there was that inept monstrosity against Bama in that championship game. 2016 will be the true ultimate test for Les Miles. Everything is on the line. Show us what you got. History says he will fall short and stumble at some important point during the year. It never fails. It is a pattern. I truly hope I am wrong. 2016 is Les Miles' final exam as LSU's head coach. Will he pass with flying colors or flunk the test?
