The Marines do have nice dress uniforms. Army leadership challenges itself to make the uniform worse every few years.

But to answer the OP...it really depends on what he wants to do. If he's interested in flying join the navy. They have the best pilots in the world. If he's interested in making shite go boom then he should join the Army. And if he just wants to be a member of the world's greatest fighting force and a leader of those men, then he should go to the Naval Academy and become a Marine officer. Preferably an 03. We could always use a few good men.

Army. Either way you travel the world but at least in the Army you're not stuck on a boat. Also as an officer the Navy tends to relieve people left and right for anything that goes wrong on a ship.

OP said that the son already had a degree so he could always try to get into OCS which would be almost as tough as getting a slot at the Naval Academy these days or just walk into a Marine recruiters office and say I want to join the suck.

Oh yeah, forgot that he put that in there. Whatever he does, Ocean, do NOT allow him to go enlisted if he has a chance to become an officer.

Yeah, travel in the Army is underrated. I've been all over the place. Some of the places sucked but some were good. Like Germany. The poster that called that a boring duty station is crazy. In the center of Europe with three years of vacations and four day weekend's? If that's boring it's your own fault.

Since he already has a degree, this. But he better have his shite together to get in.

Navy seems pretty sweet. You are in a huge machine that can float on water...it's practically a floating city.
That's always blown my mind.
Army is cool too.

degree doesn't automatically mean OCS. depends on needs and what the degree is in. haven't read all the pages but just wanted to make sure that is noted.

some people join the navy and never set foot on a "floating city."

Still in the navy? Know how tough it is to get an OCS slot joining the reserves? Recruiters are saying it isn't that difficult
