A recreational car purchase: test drove a 2016 Mustang GT

It was low on frilly options and had cloth seats but had some performance goodies added (I.e. Bembo brakes and graded rubber).
Was cheaper than expected at $31k.....$35 msrp
Salesman was pushing the Saleen but at $63k, waaaayyyy out of ball park. Still, that is a damn 700HP fire breather. Impressive.
What else are good thoughts on a "toy" car in the 35k range?

How trashy did you feel when you stepped out of it?

Honestly, I get the stigma in years past, but it was a damn fun car to drive and feels quality. I've considered a later model Shelby (esp the 2013), but they are cost prohibitive for used.

On no...... 460HP 5.0
Also figured a supercharger upgrade later. $7k and up to 575-600hp
Think there is future fun in mods......

For 31K I'd rock that bad boy in a heartbeat.

That's the reaction I was afraid of coming from someone who knows.........must. Not. Do. It. Lol

The 5.0 isn't a 460 hp car stock. 435/390

Man, we are only here for a little bit. If you have the discretionary funds, have fun.
I would check out the manual Camaro too, but I think Ford has a better interior than GM in the pony-car wars.

The 6th gen camaro is gonna be A poor man's C7 stingray vette. 455/455 LT1 motor from the c7 stingray, 3700 pounds, 8 speed auto or 6 speed manual. 0-60 in 4.0, 1/4 in 12.2 bone stock.

Best interior goes to the 15+ challenger and charger. You can get into a R/T scat pack with the 6.4L hemi (485/470) for 38ish.

If it is purely recreational get a Polaris Slingshot. Its around 20k and while I haven't driven one I did ride in one and HOLY shite was it fun. Not as fast as the GT but feels much faster.
