Can Scott be everything that we dreamed about Shepard?

Film isn't all that different. Incredible athlete that is allusive and can extend plays until coverage breaks down.
I did see a little better zip on some of his short passes than Shepard had, so hopefully he can be the man. I also think that the situation that he is walking into (virtually zero competition to take over after Harris) means that he will get a shot in an actual game. Some kids are practice performers (Jefferson) and some kids are just winners (Tebow) despite bad mechanics and a million other problems.

Scott's not a great fit for Miles' offense and won't be a good fit for LSU unless major changes are made to the offense.
eta: I'm excited he's on board. I'm just skeptical we'll adjust the offense to fit his skill set.

I don't see it on film. Scott actually has really good arm strength. Shepard was significantly faster. Scott reminds me a lot of Michael Robinson at Penn State (before he moved to FB in the NFL).
ETA: Robinson Highlights. Skip to about 1:00 mark.
Judging by the downvotes, people think the Robinson comparison was a slight. Come on youngsters, Michael Robinson was a baller at PSU.

I didn't know he was THAT smart.
Compare Scott to Shepard:

Scott had better running stats and MUCH better passing stats.

Perriloux 30 tds and 0 ints, Wow!

The Shep and Scott comparisons don't compute. Guys Scott is a real QB. Shep was an athlete. They are not the same. His game reminds me of tajh Boyd or Troy smith. I know Boyd was a little taller but I think they all share certain QB specific traits. More than just an athlete at the QB spot

High School stats dont mean shite when projecting to college. I hope u realize that.

Side note, but how the hell is perriloux's passer rating that much lower than Scott's and Magee's? Formula seems flawed

Perrilloux had far fewer TD/ATT.

How do you know Scott won't adapt to the Pro-Style offense?
A lot of you are going to look stupid after saying Scott will end up as a Running Back or not contribute to the team.
This is not just any other player

He reminds me of Blake Sims from Bama a couple years ago. He seemed to do pretty well in a hybrid pro-style/spread scheme. That's what LSU needs to do with every single QB on their roster.

Shepard was never coming to LSU to play QB. Watching his high school highlights will show you that.
Scott actually has an

Interesting, thanks for the formula. I guess it's a good representation of efficiency, but certainly doesn't capture everything.

Scott is a much better pure-QB. He reminds me of Blake Sims at Bama. There's no reason he couldn't be as successful as Sims, but until I see it actually happen, I just don't see Miles/Cameron tailoring the offense to fit Scott like Saban/Kiffin did for Sims.

No shepherd ran a 4.3

When have ANY of Les' dual threat QB recruits adapted to a pro-style offense? None

Oh then pleeeeaze delight us with how all of these kids get rated by Scout, Rivals and 247?

I don't like to think in terms of a kid who busted his arse and switched position for us, but did not live up to quite high expectations.
Having said that, Scott is a great football player. Great instincts, great "brain" both conventionally and for football.
Do LSU fans realize he would be a Top 10 QB if he were 6'2", with his skill set? I'm excited because, despite the lack of height, he still has great upside with a QB coach like Cam Cameron.
