Question.

Say LSU goes 20-11 or so, sneaks into the NCAAs, and loses in the first round. Exactly what good was it having the most talented player in the country?
How did it help the program?

Damn this thread is full of idiots

Would a sweet 16 warrant it?
Cause ending the season ranked 16 ain't shite either. By that measure you're saying in natl championship or bust?

What bunch of entitled little pricks

All I'm saying is, recruiting the #1 player in the country is great and all, but a short trip to the NCAA's, and seeing him go pro doesn't seem to me like an advancement to the program, when LSU did the same last year without Simmons.

Simmons needs to be more aggressive when he gets the ball. He's just to content to pass it off.

That's actually because his offensive game in a half court set is quite limited. No jumper is killing him.

Tough season. I wish Johnny Jones was not our coach. LSU can do better if Alleva wants to spend real money. I guess Johnny is Dale's boy though. Until Daddy Dale kicks the bucket, Johnny's got a job at LSU.

Fricking shame...we put up with this shite every year.

He is the most talented player on the team. He is just not playing like it. Whether it is bad coaching or a lackadaisical attitude, I do not know.

My opinion is he does not want to get hurt and ruin the multi-million dollar contract waiting for him on the other side of the rainbow.

Our offense was awful in the 2nd half.

We constantly had the ball 25 feet from the basket. Put no pressure on their defense. Lots of dribbling and jump shots. Felt like we just let Quarterman do whatever.

Now, it's gotta be hard on Jones when his best player is so passive. Simmons had countless opportunities where the floor was open and he could iso, and he rarely did. If Simmons had the same aggression that Quarterman (good Quarterman) had tonight, we would have won.

That being said, our offense was abysmal. We ran the same double high ball screen like 30 times. And it's not like it was working great or anything to warrant it. No creativity, too much dribbling, no movement away from the ball.

It was Brady Ball out there tonight, boys. Awful offense, but a lot of effort on defense. Just lost Hield a few times at the end.

Theres plenty of games to roast Jones for but this is not one. If we lose to auburn then by all means roast him. We took the best team and the best player in the country to the last second and Hield showed why he is the best player. With Hield we dont lose to marquette, houston, COC.

I guess some LSU fans are settlers...that's what they do settle.

Simmons is NOT the best player on this team. He could become it, but he needs to act like it and take control of the game. That falling all over him by the announcers is not going to carry him very much further if he doesn't show some aggression.

Agree Simmons refuses to assert himself. Coach J put it in his hands enough and he continually passed it off.
