I like our power rating system better than theirs... but it may not work in such a big state...

The public schools are better at everything which is like the exact opposite of what it's like on California

Yea, that's a better way to do playoffs for sure, but you just can't do it in Texas. Travel would kill teams. They've talked about it a couple of times, but I'm starting to like the regional setup. There are playoff rivalries that are pretty cool. My sons school has played the same team in the second round three years in a row now, and there is a healthy rivalry there now. (Actually one of the privates, Dallas Jesuit)

I also like how Texas does neutral site games for playoffs. We played Jesuit in Plano, Spring in Waco and Lake Travis at Texas A&M. Kids like getting to play in different stadiums.
