For the first time in NBA All-Star game history there are no white players. So Dirk Nowitzki is going to boycott, right? #Oscars
Anyone planning on boycotting? I just tweeted @ Jada Pickett Smith to see if she would help lead the charge.

Hence why they chose Sting for the halftime show.

Did Larry Bird just retire last year?

To be honest though, the Splash Brothers look whiter than half the white people I know personally.

Well the fans did the voting.

Yeh, for some reason I think Spike Lee will be cool with this

Well obviously it's because no white players merited being selected to the ASG. How dare you even think to compare this the the blatant racism by the Academy Awards selection committee! Clearly the fact that zero black actors where nominated was completely based upon the bias of a certain skin color rather than the merit of performance (unlike the NBA ASG selections). There is simply just no other explanation! Don't try to tell me that Will Smith's lack of a nomination was a result of anything BUT racial prejudice. I mean sure he's been nominated twice before, but that was pre-Obama, Michael Brown, etc. when the veil still remained closed to the MASSIVE racial injustices that black folks are subjected to all day, every day in this country.

I guess Dirk would be in consideration, but who else?

That's a whole lot of try-hard.

Also, this is a way bigger deal because white people make up 65% of the population. So 65% of the population isnt good enough? Clearly the NBA needs some affirmative action up in there, up in there

I know everyone is going to make light of this, but you are actually bringing up a good point.
When I read the OP, the first thing that came to mind was that obviously there were no deserving white players. I never once thought that white players should have equal representation or that there is something amiss since we're such a large percentage of the population yet no one made the roster.
I believe that thought process points out how different cultures are conditioned to view race and discrimination. I'm not going to imply that all whites see it this way, nor would I ever say that all minorities are looking to play the race card, but it is intriguing nonetheless. If you learn to take away race as the first differentiating factor, you can often get to the heart of the problem - in this instance, white players weren't good enough. It is so lazy and frankly dangerous to point to race and stop there when dissecting merit based awards and recognition.

It's really disgusting. I am boycotting my men's league game next Monday in protest.

Fans vote rather than the league itself right?

This is why I refuse to watch the NBA.
