flip a quarter as to who goes first. take turns selecting. Or if there are obvious sentimental attachments w/ a few with a particular sibling, remove them from consideration. I'd want my kids to be happy when they get my guns passed down.

He really wanted a 50's Colt 1911 so I'm just going to let him choose first and he can choose that one. It's the best gun in the collection and he really seems to want it.

What Chad504boy said. My grandfather left me and my two brothers three silver dollars. We had to decide who got which. We were overjoyed that he left them for us. The guns are a gift, left behind for you. You accept the gift with joy and grace.

This and so sorry for your lost.

To help in my case, I have been giving my guns to my kids and grandson. I just have two rifles, a couple handguns and a couple shot guns left. Done told them what is what and who gets what.

Did that with a bunch of land too! The only thing I own now is my home place. Did this due to my health and don't want Uncle Sam to take anything.

I'm pretty much going to designate which gun to which child. I already made direct gifts from the collection this past Christmas.
