For those interested...

1. 76ers- Simmons
2. Lakers- Ingram
3. Celtics- Bender
4. T'Wolves- Ellison
5. Suns- Dunn
6. Nuggets- Jaylen Brown

7. New Orleans Pelicans
Jamal Murray Kentucky Freshman Guard

The Pelicans continue to struggle with putting a real team around Anthony Davis. With Eric Gordon hitting free agency this coming summer, the Pelicans could use a guard who can create, shoot and finish at the rim. Murray might not be an elite athlete, but his high basketball IQ and scoring ability should lift some of the load off Davis.
Odds of winning lottery, projected record: 4.3 percent, 34-48

I'd be happy with this pick. Both him and Jrue are able to play both on and off the ball, so they would be a good fit, IMO.

I feel sorry for the kid if he lands there. I mean other than the millions he will receive in compensation.

His reasoning:
quote:

The Suns are fading fast now that Eric Bledsoe is out for the season with a torn meniscus. They've won just once in their past 10 games, and if things don't get better, they could challenge both the Lakers and Nets for the second-worst record in the NBA. The Suns already have two point guards -- Bledsoe and Brandon Knight -- but then again, they don't really have one. Both are shooting guards that lack the size to play the 2.

The good news is Dunn brings the floor vision of a lead guy with enough size to guard both backcourt positions. He's not a great shooter and he's a little old, but he's the most dynamic guard in the draft. The Suns would have to figure out how to find minutes for all three guards.

I'm in, though I would rather make the playoffs.

Is that really our problem? Quick scoring guards are the players I fear most with this team.

Not alone, but our guys that defend the 3 are one-dimensional.

Does he have a pulse, can he make a lay up, can he take a charge?

Jamal Murray looks to be a better version of EG. Really good shooter spotting up and off the dribble. Would be good to have a higher upside EG on the team making about 12 mill less a year than what we are paying EG. I'm not sure if he's second star material, but he appears to have the tools to possibly develop into one.

I'd take him at 7 in a heartbeat.

Pulse [YES] NO
Lay up [YES] NO
Potential [YES] NO
Economical [YES] NO

I can get with it, he doesn't need to be Steph curry. but if he develops a little bit of perimeter D and can slash in just enough to keep defenders wary of him, along with hitting some mid/3pt range.. Look out

I think the SR thing is why he's so low. Lillard was kind of in a similar position and shot up to #6, so I don't expect Hield to stay this low if he keeps playing like he has.

Do want. Watched him play in person at the LSU game. Kid can flat out stroke it. Needs to work on his body and defense, but has a gorgeous shot and great confidence. Reminds me of Trevor booker.

I agree too. I'm pretty sure he will improve his draft stock after the tourney, hell he could be the number 3-4 pick after it's all said and done.
He's shooting over 50% from 3 this year while attempting on average 8 3's a game. If you've watched him at all, he's not often shooting open 3's.

The comparison everyone uses is Jodie Meeks, but i think he's a better shooter and has much more athleticism and length, despite being the same height. Both 6'4" but Hield has a 6'8.5" wingspan, Meeks is just 6'4", same as Marcus Thornton.
