Just how high are expectations for the 2016 football season?

With Beckwith, Poic ,White, Neal, etc all returning are expectations at an all time high? I'll say they are and anything less than a SEC championship appearance will be a huge let down.

That would likely make the 2017 draft class:
Beckwith, White, Godchaux, Lacoutre, Fournette, Dural, Dupre, Adams, Neal, Jefferson, and Pocic. Way too much talent there to not be very good this year.

That should be the expectation, but we still have Les and Cam running the offense.
I am excited about the defense, but we had an incredible defense in 2011 and Les still managed to screw it up.
At this point, I feel better than a few weeks ago. Cautiously optimistic.

He screwed it up to the tune of 13-0 and a seccg. Only to be fricked over by an unprecedented intradivisional NCG matchup against the best coach in the history of college football, the likes of which will never again be seen.

SEC Championship at a minimum. The stars are aligned and if Les can't win with this bunch, then he simply doesn't possess the capability to anymore.

If we lose to Bama im retiring as a college football fan.

Shut the frick up NoName.
Just don't forget, we still have to get past Bama. That's the obstacle every year.

I think a second place finish in the SEC with a Sugar Bowl berth is realistic as far as expectations are concerned.

When you think about the talent on our team, it's pretty auspicious. On offense, we return perhaps the best LSU RB of all time. His backup has star potential and would be a starter at a vast majority of the other schools in the country. We have a seasoned, talented oline. And at least two future NFL WRS. Our QB is a returning junior with extensive starting experience.
On defense, we have two fearsome pass rushers (Key, Neal) who haven't yet peaked, experienced upperclassmen at tackle, an established MLB who will play in the pros, a playmaking safety, and a shutdown corner. Further, we upgraded our defensive staff by hiring an aggressive, rising young DC.
And I haven't even considered the incoming class and the inevitable development in current underclassmen.
Finally, we get both of our most daunting division rivals at home.
There is no reason we shouldn't win the SEC next season and make the playoffs. None.

And despite that, he still runs the same archaic offense with no signs of updating or innovation.
Until that changes, I still think we finish at best 2nd in the west.
Remember, we still have the same coach and OC who are a Anthony Jennings prayer away from being 0-3 against Brett fricking Bielema.
Sorry, I still see cause for concern no matter how great the early offseason may have been.

Pretty high, but I'm already looking forward to the incessant bitching come the first quarter of the Wisconsin game.

14 is an NFL record.

High....LSU has all the defensive underclassmen coming back, Dave Aranda in as DC and tons of talent back on O. And maybe a No. 1 recruiting class.

Huge not having a bunch of juniors leave early, expectations will be sky high!

He won the sec, you responded to a post saying anything less than an sec championship would be a let down.
