River Parish schools will feel no effect. They have better support than almost anywhere not named West Monroe.

If a shakeup happens and the rules say Chalmette cannot play Holy Cross, I hope we sue for our right to...

This. Schools like Lutcher, St. James, Destrehan, Hahnville, West St. John, etc. will do fine. I've seen lot of claims about how the public schools will suffer but haven't seen an empirical evidence.

My take is that if the Private schools think it is in their best interest to form their own association, they will do so and would have done so long ago, with or without a split. It would be irrational for them to leave just out of spite but equally irrational for them to stay if it is in their best interest to go.
