This trend of accepting 3-5 loss seasons that we've had recently baffles me. When we recruit the way we do, pay our coaches what we do, and have some of the best facilities in the nation, why do we constantly accept anything less than the best? That's without even mentioning the best stadium in all of sports along with the most passionate fanbase in the nation.

Yes, Alabama is really, really good. Yes, Ole Miss and Arkansas will always give us their best games of their seasons. But guess what? We have just as much talent wearing purple and gold as they do.

Gosh damn man, I'm sick and tired of being on the outside looking in year in and year out.

I know the pumpers will tell me I have unrealistic expectations, go ahead and tell me that I'm taking college football too seriously. I don't think I am; I don't think it's too much to ask for us to be right there in the thick of things at the end of November every year.

The commitment to excellence seems to have fallen by the wayside with this program and that sucks. Hope we can right the ship next year and bring another one back to Baton Rouge.

With Les's job on the line, don't be surprised if you see an LSU team you haven't seen since 2007.

These aren't unrealistic expectations. LSU will had its 3rd top 6 class in a row, one of the highest paid coaching staffs in CFB, and losing to Arkansas AND Ole Miss in back to back games is not something that should be accepted. Losing to them by multiple TDs is ridiculous. Fumbling around with the likes of Syracuse and Eastern Michigan is pitiful.

Then you look at the talent in the NFL and it's just filthy. Top round picks, starting RBs on 3 playoff teams, record breaking WRs, a pro bowl offensive lineman (Turner) plus several starting OL and a rookie making a name for himself. All pros on defense in the secondary, 4 starting linebackers on 4 different teams, several starting DL players, not including a rookie hybrid backup with 7 sacks. I mean it's just unbelievable the talent that has run through this place since 2007 (yes all these players I'm talking about have played at LSU AFTER 2007), yet LSU has 1 conference championship plus 1 conference championship berth, 1 national championship berth (including a sickening loss in it), and one season with less than 2 losses.

Since the last national championship win, LSU has lost at least 3 games in 6 of those 8 years. We have been to 3 big bowl games in Miles's 11 year tenure with 2 of them coming in the first 3 years. LSU's talent is second only to Bama in the SEC West. LSU has finished no better than 3rd in the West the past 3 years. Finishing 3rd, 5th, and 4th in you own division with the talent and expense LSU pays for coaching and recruiting, makes zero sense.

I feel ya. But as long as Miles is HC, it wont happen.

If he stays too long, we will need to rebuild the whole system.

In a nutshell Alabama strives to contend for titles. LSU is content with winning games. Its all about ambition.

Expecting a national championship every few years is unreasonable. Just because Saban and Alabama are doing it doesn't make it reasonable. What's happening at Bama won't happen again in college football for a century, if at all.

Add Ole Miss and Arky to the teams that we can consistently beat, then we can get to the SEC champ and national champ level again.

For the longest time only Bama and Florida could rival us in DEPTH of talent. The other teams are catching up, but I still think those are the only two games we can realistically lose any given year. Ole Miss is right there too, but frick Ole Miss.

We didn't go 3-5, we went 5-3. If the standard is that we have to beat Bama and Saban consistently and win the SEC repeatedly then no one will ever due.

IMHO, the standard should be to bring in the best athletes we can and make sure to build their character and turn them into fine young men and make sure they get an appropriate education. If your standards are otherwise, then you need to find another team outside the SEC to follow. Better yet, just become Bama fans because NO ONE IS GOING TO BEAT SABAN anytime in the conceivable future. Did you even watch the game last night???"?????

Tigerfaninsouthland, I'm right there with you. If we are going to accept Miles's present production we need to cut his salary down to about 50,000 dollars a year. I don't even know if we'd be getting our moneys worth with a cut to that level. I do know that he's getting paid way too much to be giving us what we are getting now. I believe that Miles is doing the best he can. It will unfortunately take a while to get rid of him. There are too many people who still have confidence in him. I'm really bewildered as to why. You need not look further than the results of the last four years to see we need to get someone in here the game hasn't passed up.

That is the key statement.

Here it is whether anyone likes it or not. Saban is the best college coach EVER, and right now Bama has the top program in college football period end of story. It truly sucks that Bama is in the same division that LSU is in but hey it is what it is. As long as Saban is at Bama if we can beat them every 2 to 3 years and always vie for an SEC championship with the West being determined with the LSU/Bama game every year than that is all we can reasonably expect in this moment in time, and I personally am good with that.

Now allowing Ole Piss and Arky to replace us in the SEC west pecking order, that is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!! It should be their fanbase saying if we can beat LSU every 4 to 5 years than I am good with that, having them expect to beat us every year is where Les has to do a MUCH better job coaching. He needs to beat it in their heads that losing to Ole Piss and Arky is EMBARRASSING so embarrassing that as a football player walking across campus to go to classes your head should not be held high because you did just embarrass your alma mater.

I am a Miles fan and I want him to succeed in such a bad way it hurts when I see what happened in November to the team because I am worried he will get fired. But if he can not right the ship and beat the teams we are SUPPOSED to beat on a year in year out basis, than no matter what the sunshine pumpers think he needs to step down. Accepting anything less than 10-11 wins every year should not be tolerated except on an OCCASIONAL basis but definitely not on back to back to back years. If Miles doesn't win 11 games "with bowl game" next year then unless their are mitigating circumstances "key injuries" etc..... he needs to step down. And that is because exactly what you said with our recruiting classes year after year and what the coaches get paid Miles has to eventually be held accountable.

So here is to LSU and Miles winning the SEC west, SEC ship and in the playoffs in 2016!!!!!!

As long as the coaching staff salaries remain this high, expectations will be for Championships.
