Sounds like a good guy.
My husband always does it, Never thought of it much. In some settings involving Mr 1999s work, I actually make a point not to use my last name with his subordinates if he's not around. Don't want them to think I'm throwing around the boss' name.

He really was. Everyone that was around him for any length of time came away with something positive about him and themselves.

He had heart trouble and smoked for decades. Probably something related to that.

RIP Mr Boots! He was such an awesome person/ man and taught my son how to really run ! He would always say , " running is just like any other sport , you have to learn how to run and work to perfect it ! Boots is very special to us , he helped my son get over stuttering! Thanks Coach , you will be missed

He attended a church near pelican point, a very humble and caring man

Boots was the star of my favorite movie as a kid, "Pistol Pete the Birth of a Legend." Or at least he was the star in my mind because we used to run into him at the old Delchamps on Jones Creek.

Anyone know how long and how much he smoked? Never thought he'd be a smoker with that track and field background. Seems bizarre.
