I don't think it is the predictability. It's really not. You still have to stop what you know is coming. Predictability can help you lull your opponent to sleep.
It's the inability to use that predictability to your advantage. Cam did that in the bowl game. On third and four when everyone knew it would be a toss sweep Cam dialed up Quinn on a deep ball. Quinn was open for a touchdown and the ball was thrown short, and bounced around on the turf.
We lost a great chance to score, or you can say we should have just gone for the first. But CAM DID MIX IT UP but Brandon failed to perform. That's a pass that should be overthrown never under thrown and bouncing on the ground. Cam can't play the game.
But in that instance, he set it up perfectly.
We lost the games in November due to our O line not getting the holes. That's where we lost the down the stretch. It was all line play. Bama's D line whooped our O line. That's the game in a nutshell. And Brandon went into a fog....

The biggest problem with our passing is that we go deep or not at all most of the time. We have hardly any short to intermediate passing game.

No. I'm sick of that too. We either toss to RB or throw the ball 15+ yds downfield. Predictability allows teams to destroy your gameplan as long as they can come halfway close to matching up physically.
We have to add passes to the FB(saw it once during the bowl game), quick slants, etc to keep defenses on their toes. Yes, Harris needs to not throw a 5yd pass at 80mph. The point is that someone other than LF7, Guice, or a WR downfield has to draw attention from at least one or two defensive players. Otherwise, the D can just plug holes.

That is the definition of unpredictable. But until aTm & TX Bowl we had been completely predictable. And Saban smothered us because of that.

Read your post and I still don't understand...so help. If two teams line up and the defensive front is more dominant than the offensive front, the matchup can still be even because the offense knows the play call and the snap count. If the defense knows the play call (predictability) then the defense wins because of dominance. If you can't keep a dominant defense honest you will get beat. Ole Miss doesn't have any better of an offensive line than we do, however, their team was competitive enough to be in a game where fortune decided the outcome. We couldn't even compete so how can you blame line play more so than predictability? How can a line make holes where defenders know to occupy? Not being a jerk here, I acknowledge that line play was bad but it's near impossible to move a grown man from a spot when he has equal talent and knows where you are trying to take him.

Run blitz....look it up. Say what you will but teams knew BH wasn't going to beat them passing... And that he couldn't execute the plays needed to beat a run/pass blitz.
They were correct. BH comes out in third and leads us down the field to take the lead...different game. Instead he rolled right and iced the game right into the hands of a bama defender.

Correct.....and our illustrious coaching staff sat there with their collective thumbs up their azzes and let it happen...not once...not twice....but three times in a row.
