they actually shot a bunch of scenes on the journey in a way where you expected an arrow to pop in out of nowhere
did a good job trolling our anticipation

I really enjoyed it, those cave indians were some creepy bastards. My boy from Fargo cane through and damn "the scene" was pretty gruesome.

Watched it this weekend. Recommend. I believe it is also at Redbox for those without Amazon Prime.

They had enough money to make a movie that looked good. I believe it was a directorial debut, and it showed. Still well worth the watch, especially if you like westerns.

Watched this last night after seeing this thread. I had to look away at the split scene.
Patrick Wilson had boots on with rubber bottoms. Dont think that was available at the time.

Pretty tough scene. Kurt Russell had a great line in this flick though.
It'd be nice if the families of the people he bushwhacked could come to town and watch him go purple on the rope."
And Mrs. O'Dwyer would get it.

I really try to steer clear of movies legends like Russell make when they just want to be busy making movies out of fear I'll be really disappointed, but it was well done entertainment. I also wanted to see Fox in a movie like this. Outside of the crossing over a bit into the horror genre it was a good watch with good writing IMO.

far as to show a civilized Indian wearing a suit for like one scene.
Ugh, this made me cringe. Indians who lived in towns did wear suits lol. It's pretty well documented. The Dawes act was kinda infamous for taking Indian children and sending them to the east coast for schooling. Where they wore suits.

Loved this movie. It's what green inferno should have been.
