More from the Jackson Councilman that called for citizens to attack police

After all the backlash, he held a press conference today to "clear the air."
Well, he doubled down on the dumbassery and obviously doesn't care for the neighboring Rankin County Sheriff

100%. He's actually a good guy by all accounts.
The rest of the press conference was #blacklivesmatter and everyone in Madison is racist.
When I saw he was having a Sunday afternoon press conference, I somewhat expected an apology or a "my words were twisted." Nope.

Jackson might as well be Haiti.
The collective IQ of the mayor and city council doesnt hit 100

But at least he is not calling for the killing of law enforcement like the Bundy militias.

Truth. The silence from the mayor and all but one city councilman (the one that represents Northeast) is deafening. They fully have this set of beliefs.
I work in Jackson proper, live in Madison. I can't completely cut out all spending in Jackson (lunches and such), but I won't be spending significant money in the city.

Can the state AG appoint a special prosecutor? I'm assuming the chance of a recall election are slim.

What's weird about Jackson is the people who live here think it's one of the best cities to live. If you say anything bad about it, they get really defensive.

Fatass city councilman calls for citizens to attack law enforcement officers from neighboring cities and counties (The white suburbs), basically blaming whitey for all of Jackson's many problems. His comments made national news.
Governor calls for an investigation. Law enforcement across Mississippi calls for a boycott of Jackson businesses. Law enforcement in neighboring counties basically call him out and tell him to fix the crime problem.
Today, he called a special press conference and instead of backing down the comments or apologizing, he called the governor George Wallace, Jr. and called the Rankin County sheriff a bastard.

I thought we were talking about Jackson in this thread, not New Orleans.

Haha. I'm talking about the white people here.

Yes, if the state finds there is a crime. State AG is the only state elected democrat. Doubt anything happens.

Tony Yarber doesn't seem like an idiot to me. He's in a dying city and he's made some proposals that aren't exactly crazy, but the council fights him over everything.
