First time poster so don't bash me too hard.Do you'll think Cam will be on the sideline next year or back in the booth?

They moved him from the booth to the sideline for a reason. And we scored more points in that game that any other this season. I would hope that is a sign of things to come.

We scored more points because we played a HS defense.

We scored more against Texas Tech than we did against W. Kentucky, Syracuse, E. Michigan, and S. Carolina. Those defenses were just as terrible and we didn't sniff 50.

I forget the exact quote but Les did a post game interview with Emily Dixon and said it was something they'd keep doing in the future.

No one is saying the Texas Tech defense is great, but they're certainly not SO bad that LSU scoring 57 points is a given. Baylor scored 63, Oklahoma St. 70, and Oklahoma 60. Those are teams with much better offenses than LSU (allegedly, which I would vote Yes to).

I knew LSU could score on Texas Tech using the power running game, but I was more impressed with the little nuances in the passing game that were brought out, and I couldn't have cared less who they were playing because it seemed to never matter before that game who LSU played because they either couldn't find any passing game tempo, or they wouldn't even try to find any.

I dont see how people can be so negative about that. I might be the biggest hater on this board of the Les Miles offensive mantra, but that game showed SOME light, and its an utter shame we only had Cam on the sideline for one game.

I vote Cam Cameron to come back. Harris in his third year needs to stick with the same guy. I just dont see it being a good thing to have the defensive coordinator leave, and then letting your offensive coordinator go...AFTER there was HUGE speculation about letting your HC go. How can any LSU coach go into living rooms and talk to parents with that ? LSU needs to lockdown on recruiting, and stop wasting resources on trying to change something that frankly WILL NOT CHANGE.

Truth of the matter is that our OFFENSE has carried our team 2 of the last 3 years and Harris is poised for a big junior campaign. Only things that we need for a NC next year are Aranda, Beckwith, and beating Alabama at home.

You obviously don't realize just how truly bad Texas Tech's defense is. Also, LSU put up 48 points in the rain vs WKU.

Texas Tech's scoring defense is at least 34 spots WORST than any team you mentioned outside of Eastern Michigan who is only two spots better than Tech. We put up 44 vs East Michigan on a rain soaked field. We had a closed roof vs Texas Tech and put up 12 more points. Also Texas Tech's pass defense is ranked 113th while Eastern Michigan's is 33rd. That also makes a big difference.

Exactly. I'm as critical as they come of Miles and his offensive woes, but that team that played against T. Tech was not the same one that played those cupcakes earlier in the season.

We have no choice but to hope that carries over to next year and Harris makes that leap to where LSU can win because of him as opposed to losing because of him.

Okay, now please tell me what teams were on Eastern Michigan's schedule, and what teams were on Texas Tech's schedule. Oh wait, here we go

Texas Tech Opponents

Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
Baylor
Texas
TCU
West Virginia
Sam Houston St.
UTEP
Arkansas
Iowa St.
Kansas
Kansas St.

Eastern Michigan Opponents

Massachusetts
Toledo
Old Dominion
Wyoming
Akron
Army
Ball State
Northern Illinois
Miami (OH)
Central Michigan

You have to adjust your stats based on the opponents, AND you have to account for the pace of the game. Tech will almost always play at a very fast pace and there will be a lot more plays in their games.

Their defense is still bad, but come on, they're obviously better than Eastern Michigan.

wish Cam would have gotten out of the booth last year when jennings was struggling game after game and when harris looked like he was going to have a mental breakdown at auburn. would have been nice for these highly paid coaches to have a semblance of awareness of what is going on with the offense and players.

Well yeah they are better but we're talking 4th start of the year Harris vs 12th start of the year Harris.

LSU put up 4 TDs, 391 yards and 7.92 yards per carry vs EMU rushing.

LSU put up 7 TDs, 384 yards and 9.6 yards per carry vs Tech

LSU was 28.6% 80 yards and 5.7 yards per attempt with EMU

LSU was 59.1% 254 yards 1 TD 1 int and 11.5 yards per attempt vs Tech

Look at TAMU in run defense (2nd to last in SEC) and see what LSU did vs them.

Texas Tech is just on a whole nother level of bad regardless. If EMU is the only other defense on our schedule that was worst than them when we played a bunch of truly terrible defenses, that tells you just how bad they are.

A) successfully completed a screen pass, with no downfield penalty. And it went for a TD!!!

B) no delay of game penalties. I would have been happy with none following timeouts (or on kickoffs). So they surpassed my expectations in this one arena.

With those two facts, by comparison, it was indeed a different offense out there.

Sarcasm aside, things did go smoother. AND Harris was corrected during the game. One thing that worries me, we had the same discussion at the end of the 2014 season when all of a sudden Jennings was running for first downs and TE's were getting thrown to. Then *poof*... LSU space-time continuum reset itself and we continued on with the football version of Groundhog Day. We know who the Bill Murray character is. I just want to know who is Andie McDowell.

I just want to see some TE/WR motions so Harris knows if he's facing man-to-man or zone coverage. If we put somebody in motion, you know it's a sweep or reverse (maybe flicker). Maybe do a couple rubs with WR in motion to free up a TE behind the LBs. You know, you can do such things as pass and motion in a Power-I or 2x TE set. Hell, here's a crazy idea. Put your balanced 2x TE set into unbalanced with a TE motion!!! Wait... we don't pass out of running formations. Nevermind.
