In fairness, when you play an OL that is hot garbage that's easy to do.

Swag is important, but it's going to take a lot more than swag to beat Bama and Arky and the like. We need bigger and better talent and some veteran guys. Youth is holding them back.

They had a second team AA, and yes they play in the Big 12 where good Ds are few and far between but in offensive line measurements according to Football Outsiders they had the 3rd Best O-Line in the FBS this year.

If you don't promote O, you run the risk of losing him. If you lose him, you most likely lose Lawrence along with other recruits. I know he hasn't had much coordinator experience, but the dude is a closer on the recruiting trail, passionate about his job, and loves LSU. I say give him a shot. I mean we haven't exactly had sparkling success with the last few coordinator hires. If its a train wreck then we'll get a whole new coaching staff next year anyway.

It was nice to see the front 7 dominate and the rest of the D teeing off when the opportunity presented itself. It looked like the DB's and LB's were head-hunting

Let me rephrase:

Swag is important, but it's going to take a lot more than swag to beat Bama and Arky and the like.

We need the talent we have and recruit in the future to stay longer in order to develop into a bigger and smarter more cohesive unit.

Youth is holding them back.

Not a knock on O...but consider the competition.

Orgeron as DC is risk. I don't know how much of a tactician he is overall. I'm not saying he's not capable. I'm just saying that I don't know. I don't know if he's ever done that.

Having said that, everything he's done here has been an absolute success. He's been a tremendous asset to this program and it happened the literal minute he stepped on campus.

I agree. Coach O is a force multiplier. He is charismatic and really can inspire greater effort.
