1. Police officers arrive on the scene unaware that the "weapon" is fake.
2. Officers tell kid to put his hands up.
3. Kid reaches for gun and points at officers.
4. Gun does not have the orange safety feature on it to show it is indeed a toy.
I'm not entirely sure how this can be construed as murder.
Say what you want about his age, but 12 years old is certainly old enough to know that when a police officer tells you to put your hands up, you do it. At the least you're old enough to know NOT to point a gun (toy or real) at a police officer. It's not like he was a toddler.
It's a tragedy that a young child is now dead, but considering the circumstances above, there is no reason to bring murder charges.
Does anyone here think they just arrived on the scene and thought "Hey, I feel like shooting a child. Let's do it."?

Maybe 1.8 seconds elapsed in this entire portion of the incident.

What I think is that this a-hole was known to be dangerously incompetent and was still put out on the streets. City/county/whatever have a massive lawsuit coming and I hope they lose.

Did this really happen? The video is poor but not much time transpired between car stop and shooting.
