The Murdah household loves their board games, however I'm getting tired of the usual ones. I need suggestions on some new board games to get the family for christmas.

Go big or go home with Monopoly.

What ages are we dealing with? What are some of the board games y'all already have?
My default suggestions are:
1. Ticket to Ride (set collection)
2. Pandemic (cooperative)
3. Wits and Wagers Family Edition (trivia)
4. King of Tokyo (dice)
If you're unfamiliar with these games and want to see them played, all of them have episodes of "Tabletop" devoted to them.

Ages 18 and up. We like party games like scategories, cards against humanity, apples to apples, and yes we have monopoly
Looking for something that probably hasn't been too mainstream.

I read a little but about Pandemic, looks interesting. Reddit has alot of suggestions but alot of the popular board games on thay sub seem very extensive. We need something easy to learn and good for a group of up to 10 or 12. Hope that helps

Good beginner euro games:
Carcassonne
Puerto Rico
Pandemic
Ticket to Ride
Power Grid
Survive: Escape from Atlantis (if you had kids, I'd go with this)

There's also a Party Edition of "Wits and Wagers" that can play decent sized groups. I'm actually kind of jealous you have that many family members up for playing board games.

New board games are awesome actually. The industry has made some big strides over the last 10 years or so.

Yeah don't dive too deep too quickly. That might be scary.

So do you want ONE game for a group of 10-12 or maybe a few games that smaller groups can play?
In any case, if you're look for big party games for a group that size, I would look at:
Ultimate Werewolf
One Night: Ultimate Werewolf
Two Rooms and a Boom
Codenames
Dixit
I'd probably get an expansion or two for Dixit at the same time. Those are social/party games that are a ton of fun.
On the other hand, if you're look for some games that 2-6 can play and have some going on at the same time, Ticket to Ride, King of Tokyo, 7 Wonders, Tsuro or Tsuro of the Seas, and Hanabi are all great starts.
ETA: I've also heard this is fun for big groups: Funemployed, but i have not played it yet myself.

One game for the group, but I wont rule out getting a couple. Yall have done a great job with the suggestions, the idea behind this thread was to get some idea for games that werent part of the mainstream collection.

Two Rooms and a Boom is awesome for 10-12 people, FWIW. Werewolf has too much player elimination for my taste. One Night can get a little complicated.
I haven't played Codenames with a group that size yet personally.

Played Werewolf over thanksgiving and didnt like it. Too much guessing and not enough players really getting involved.
