Your only number is one more double digit loss in a supposedly bigger badder SEC.
Not a good attempt bro

Bigger and badder? We have 1 team in top 10.

when we lost back then it sucked (see 2002 season trying to follow up that team's achievements) but you knew the program was heading somewhere.
and this "fun" era of LSU football im speaking of extends into the beginning of the Les era 2005-2007. recently it's just been zapped of excitement. i still care, still love when we win, still hate when we lose, but not as much as a few years ago. that's what 22 personnel in an I running at 9/10 guys over and over and over and over and over will do to you.

Is the SEC west better now, than then? 2001 would have been only the third SEC team with a shot at the NC in 13 years... This year is 9 out of 10 .
MSU is vastly better
Ole miss is vastly better
Bama is vastly better
auburn isn't so much
Arkansas is just as good
We have another 8 win team in the west in aTm

Just imagine Odell, Mett, and Jarvis in a Jimbo offense.
a little over a week ago it was harris, malachi, dural, quinn, fournette, guice, smith, etc

I won't shite on you for that statement. I feel ya.
Part if it is psychological, though. If not for Sabans success, and even more Les' success, it wouldn't feel this way.
But honestly, that team was a struggle to watch, as well.
There were some truly exciting moments. (Bama game)
There were even deeper lows,though

doesn't really have to do with saban and bama for me. it could be fricking gus and auburn or florida like the old days. program has dwindled to its current state and its hard to be optimistic that les can turn it around.

Odell is awesome. But I'd take josh reed over him in college any day of the week. Reed was the best route runner I've seen and was always open. Loved watching him play.
And blocked the living ish out of folks...
His catch in the back of the end zone in the PB v GTECH is one of my all-time favorites.

So because those teams are better than they were its ok for us to lose 3 games in a row getting blown out in a down year in the SEC? With the highest paid staff in football? With superior recruiting classes?
In 2001 we went from 3 years removed from some of the worst times I can remember, in 2015 we are 4 years removed from what could be our best years ever... And each side is trending opposite ways.
You can try to ignore it all you want but those teams are passing us up and it's ok for some of you I guess. I like Miles, but I think his best years are behind him and at some point we'll make a change... I thought this year was perfect because of who was available. Let's say in 2 years he's let go, who knows if any good candidates will be available.

What are you saying? As for this year did we catch a bad break that Alabama and Ole Miss are real good and we had to play them both on the road? That we played the East rep at home? That Arkansas this year fills the same type of spot that Ole Miss did in '01?
I was merely reflecting over that season. I don't give a shite how the West was different back then. It doesn't change the current problems or offer any better perspective.

That team was so much better coached.
3 losses with NFL talent all over the field. The loss to Ole Miss was inexplicable.
That all said, yes, Saban is a better coach.

But was also VERY young! Most of the players playing in that game were key players on the NC team in 2003
Josh Reed? Nope. Davey? Nope. Ryan Clark? Not there in '03. Hookfin, Damian James, Jarvis Green, etc none played in 2003.

That was a much weaker SEC west back then.
Don't even pretend like the SEC west is strong this year.

Look at how they used running plays for Mauck on the fly....
as they could do for Harris.

Matt Mauck coming in for relief of an injured Rohan Davey, one of my favorite Tiger QBs of all time. They didn't know what to do with Mauck's scrambles.

Then, in 2002, we lose to Va Tech to open the season (26-8), win 6 in a row, go to Fla, and have Mauck break his foot on a called run, Randall is our only option at QB, we take it on the chin the rest of the year because Saban hasn't recruited a good QB up to that point. Fisher couldn't do anything with Randall so a very promising season went from 6-1 at the point of injury to Mauck, to finish out at 8-5. And, we still had a chance to go to the SEC Championship game that year except for the stupid "prevent defense" crap in Arky when Jones basically threw 3 passes, covering 80 yards and won the ballgame!! (Also, I might add that this was the "Bluegrass Miracle" year as well)

That team was also 8-3. Just sayin.
What was our record two years prior?
How many SEC Championships did we win prior to Saban?
How many have we won since he arrived?
