Like I said, I don't have the facts, so your opinion is as valid as mine. But I have spent time doing financial consulting for universities, and losing a few million from the budget a year because a coach got fired would be felt all over said univ. Otherwise, what business is it of the school's president to get into what is happening in the athletic department? To say that finances (or perception of how the university utilizes finances) didn't have something to do with how things went down is pretty naive.

I'm not sure you understand how it works. The University is not relying on athletic dept funds to begin with. They rely on state funds. What's lost out of the athletic dept funds has no impact on the university at all. Alexander move was purely political not financial. I will leave it at that

I will take that as a compliment.

Would you like to expound on how people should look at the season?

Play teams with lesser talent and we win 7 in a row...not to mention we didn't exactly ever look like world beaters and played a few teams with back up qbs

Play more talented teams and get blown out 3 weeks in a row...play A&M (real good team there chief) and win

Sorry to crash the party of negativity that is the Rant, but y'all are some miserable fricks.

It is difficult to watch a great program slowly fade into mediocrity...and most fans don't even realize it.

Yes, you hit that right on the head! I have watched LSU football for years. Ive sat in that stadium through every bad year too. LSU has came a long way to build the program up from what it had fallen to back then, and I for one don't wanna see it go back.

Nick Saban. It's that simple. LSU fans can't get over it. We had the best coach of a generation here and we lost him to a bitter rival. If he would have stayed in the NFL or gone somewhere else outside the SEC, I don't think you see as much negativity throughout the lsu fan base as you do now.

Not really. Saban's a good coach and we already hated Bama prior to his coaching there. I don't think it's general negativity. We just see the same mistakes being made over and over with superior talent. We want what's best for the Tigers.. both players and fans.

In fact, I do know how it works. You have it backwards; the AD doesn't rely on University funds, but the Uiversity relies and mandates payments from the AD.

Take a look at this article. This isn't the whole picture, but will provide some perspective.

The university has been, and perhaps will continue, facing budget cuts. Does it not stand to reason that it is in the University's best interest to sustain revenue figures for its most consistent revenue center?

I was trying to be nice and cordial with you, but you don't seem to be able to employ much reasoning in this scenario, and I am telling you I am educated in this area. Try and learn something man.

You two are a couple of fricking retards. You can pick your "favorite team" on TD at any time ie the emblem you see to the left.

SOME shortcomings?

And you base this on what, the last 4 years? You assume there's hope for turn around when this season was worse than ever as far as getting mud stomped by the SEC West.

We were playing for a championship less than 4 years ago. You realize that, right?

Stop and let that sink in. We were undefeated and playing for the NC. That was with Miles. That was with one of Miles' handpicked OCs.

You are the definition of a person with catastrophe syndrome...only worse. You can't handle the fact that we are not the best...so you want to burn everything to the ground. I'm not talking about a rational discussion of whether or not Miles should be fired. I'm talking about literally trashing every aspect of this program because you are unhappy.

You have forgotten what LSU brings to the table. You have forgotten what it's like for a couple of positive surprises occurring during the year vs. negative.

We bring in great talent. Hopefully we continue to do so. But, make no mistake, LSU can win big...AS IS.

LSU football is a business. Pres FKing made it clear that he would not allow any changes because of the business "black eye" that would come along with it. So, now that we've clearly established that;

Would you walk into Ruth Chris Steakhouse and let them sell you a cut of meat at their prices, that was exactly what you could get at Applebees?

Are you gonna let Macys sell you a pair of shoes that came from Target?

When shopping for a Lexus, are you going to pay them for a Toyota, that they just switched the name plate on?

Our coach is the 9th highest paid coach in the country. Our Conference has been the top conference in the country. Our fans pay a premium price for game day experiences. But for the past 4 years we've been getting the production of an above average football team. He plays not to lose, and his personal goal is to get to 10 wins.

But, hey, enjoy that $49 steak topped with Heinz 57 sauce. And dont you dare complain, or send it back because it wasnt cooked how you asked, or brought out sizzlin on the plate. Enjoy it because, well, thats how a 10 year old kid would want their steak

Another lie.

Guys, listen up. Take a knee. Helmet's not a chair. If you're still upset about this, it's because you're an idiot and you suck as a person. Revising history and making things up about people to justify your meltdown only makes you look sillier.

Geaux Tigers. frick the haters.

I look at sports the same way now as I did when I was 10 years old...and that is with a certain innocence that I have refused to let the negative assholes on this board infiltrate. My favorite team gets to play in another game, and I don't care when it is, who it is against, or where it is...I can't wait to see it. The Tigers are going to suit up against a team that they don't play often and they have a chance to play and win, and that is all that really matters at this moment. When I was 10, I never had the inkling to question coaches, to want people to get fired, or to criticize some of the players on the team. All I knew is that I wanted the Tigers to win. Why does that change as some of you get older?

Of course I would like to be in the playoffs, but that didn't happen this year. Next year looks very promising and I will eagerly anticipate what 2016 holds. Until then, it's Tigers v Red Raiders.

have a downvote.
