Fox was forced to release a statement today directed at rumours DiCaprio's character in his controversial new film The Revenant is raped "twice" by a bear.

A Fox spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly: "The bear in the film is a female who attacks [Leo] because she feels he might be threatening her cubs ... there is clearly no rape scene with a bear."

That official statement came after a Drudge Report story suggested the attack scene went a little too far.

"The bear flips Leo over and thrusts and thrusts during the explicit mauling," the Drudge Report said, claiming the bear raped DiCaprio's character "twice".
