Let's say that Alleva held a presser the Monday after the Arky game to address the rumors Schadd had put out. He states that Miles is our coach for the foreseeable future and leaves it at that, just like he did right after the A&M game.

Now, the speculation continues and all the DALSU shite still occurs just like it did, but with the addition of Alleva clearly stating Miles is safe.

The season plays out the same and on November 30th, Alleva fires Miles.

How would your opinion change on this whole thing if Alleva had spoken out immediately and then went back on his word essentially and did the opposite of what was said?

Just curious as to how people would view this compared to how we are viewing the situation right now.

I wouldn't care if Alleva lied and then fired Miles.

Not sure what else you are asking. I would be fine with that.

I think Alleva should have came out no matter what and said Les was going to be the coach.. even if lying.. and the media would have went away.

Alleva didn't have to lie. He simply needed to state:

"It is the policy of the athletic department to evaluate ALL coaches EVERY year AFTER the season is over. Any commentary or rumores relating to Les Miles' coaching future at LSU are not based in fact and did not originate from me or the athletic department".

After that statement Alleva can then do, in good faith, whatever he wants when the season is over. The man completely botched the situation.

Miles fan, posiTiger, pumper here. If Alleva had done that, i.e. squashed the rumors and the board members had kept their mouths shut we'd likely be where UGA is right now, with Jimbo instead of Smart and I'd be perfectly fine with it.

I now hope that Miles can salvage the Class and right the ship, particularly offensively.

I'm running out of confidence that he will but I'm hopeful and he's earned the right to try.

If we are not in the SEC Championship/Playoffs next year then I'd be ready to move on respectfully.

Have some class and dignity as fans, if you are a booster or otherwise influential, keep your damn fat mouth closed and do what needs to be done behind closed doors and with some class.

I wish that I could say that any of this mattered, but it doesn't. At the end of the day, LSU is stuck with Miles for as long as he wants to be here. The worst part is, there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

Some people here under estimated the support that remained for miles. Just because a lot of drama queens wanted miles out, that doesn't mean that the majority of LSU fans felt the same way or felt that this was handled properly.

If anyone in authority at LSU actually gave a go ahead on this issue, they should be fired.

If you want to guy gone, you fire him. you don't set up some convoluted game plan where you only want him fired if you can get one coach. That simply is a disaster waiting to happen.
