You say that but minus the fake field goal, that game goes to OT. I don't think it's smart to trust Miles in OT...

The field goal occured with 10+ minutes left.

It is illogical and idiotic to assume that game would have gone into OT

This is like Tenn and NE fans pumping their chest about the games they almost won. Never noticed another fan base so willing to take points off the board and W's from the win column just to belittle the head coach. He did it with Saban's players. He needed a fake kick. It's the recruiting. 2013 was all Cam, Les sucks. 2011 was the best LSU team, anyone can win with that. The funny thing is people will take credit away from '07 b/c it was led by a handful of guys who were freshman under Saban then give zero credit for '11 which was all Les' guys. Just stop

First of all. Or what? You gonna stop watching LSU football?

Second of all, in 13 we were three plays from being 12-0, wheres his credit there?

In 12 we were 1 play from being 11-1 wheres his credit?

In 14 we were three plays from 10-2 wheres his credit?

No one forces you to be a fan and quite frankly no one forces you to be retarded on a message board.

And Gerry Dinardo could likely been 8-3 instead of 3-8 and not lost his job if his luck was better.

Don't forget people, we are a missed field goal(vMiss St.) and lucky trick play(vFlorida) from being 6-5 right now. I don't see this year as an improvement year. I still think Les should go. Obviously, he's not leaving this season, but after yet another sub-par year next season, he BETTER be out!!

I love it when snowflakes like this cherry pick "what if's" to try to make a point.
Enjoy your misery.

Luck had nothing to do with the fake field goal. The coaches noticed the Florida players crashing down on film and practiced that fake all week.

No offense but if you watched the UF game and drew the conclusion that the reason we won was because of a fake FG, you are probably a female or just don't watch much football. Therefor I'll believe that you either didn't watch the game or have forgotten how the game really played out.
Miss St. You are correct, we very well could've lost after dominating the majority of the game because we tried to run the clock entire 2nd half.

And Les is a fg away and a screen pass gone bad from 2 more bcs titles.

Missed field goals happen all the time in football. If you are gonna bring up this play why not bring up the 2 touchdowns LSU got called back.

lucky trick play(vFlorida)

If you are calling the play lucky because the kicker bobbled the ball is a dumb argument. He was wide open and scored easily. In fact Florida would have been the lucky team if he would have dropped it. Great play call. Also if Les just kicks the field goal LSU still wins by 3.

We are lightning and a bowl win away from a 10 win season.

I've just about had it with the "10 win season" standard.

Back when I was a kid, we had 11 game seasons and no SEC championship game. And there were far fewer bowl games. So, at most, teams played 12 games, and to even make it to a bowl game was a pretty nice accomplishment. A 10 win season then was fantastic.

Nowadays, we play 12 regular season games, possible conference championship games, and 80 of 127 teams go to bowls.

That's 13-14 games. And 3-4 of those are cupcakes and a couple more are against weaker SEC teams. So that's 5 or 6 guaranteed wins right there.

And how we get there can be misleading. If we go 9-3 regular season and get trounced in 3 conference games (like this year) and then win a shitty bowl, there's your 10 wins. Nothing to be too proud of in that scenario.

So having a "10 win season" looks great, but if you actually dissect it, it's often not as great as it's made out to be. Not for a team that aspires to greatness.

Flame away.

If LSU had never started a football program, they'd be undefeated.

You can say that every year. Hell, look at Michigan State. They got pretty lucky against Michigan, thus keeping them in the playoff picture. Some of you folks really go out of your way to find things to whine about.

It will be just as bad, possibly worse. Everybody played at least tee ball which makes them experts.
