In 2007 LSU was #9 in the nation in total offense, #12 in PTS/G. Jarret Lee had his infamous pick 6 season the next year, but LSU remained in the top 30 in both of those offensive categories. Les took control of the offense after that and his been running his offense ever since. You know where LSU fell to on offense in 2009? #102 in total offense and #76 in scoring. This has been Les's offense ever since 2009 started. Between top 10 and 30 on offense before Les took over--that was Crowton. As you know, all this talent doesn't automatically do it once you stick them on offense, as we've witnessed ever since.
I agree but this offence is better suited for Miles because it is simple.
All the poor communications on the side line screwing up any rhythm , penalties, lack of awareness or being ahead of the game would get exposed worst than it does now with a spread, multiple formation up tempo offense.
I know all teams at time have some of these issues but lets be honest, this is the norm for LSU.

EDIT: I had a bad stat for 2008 total offense. LSU was #51. The scoring offense ranked top 30.
Not better suited to beat Bama, that's for sure.
Think about this those of you who complain that LSU doesn't have returning 5th year seniors to competently run the offense. In 2008 Gary Crowton got freshman QB who was thrust into action unexpectedly, to lead the Tigers to a top 30 offense in both total offense* and points.
Les Miles even with a senior Mett hasn't accomplished the same since.
