I want to get a red and trout mounted. This will be my first fish to mount. What is the process? When i catch the one ready to mount just throw it in the freezer and wait until i get the other?
Also, who do y'all recommend bringing it to? I am in the BR area.

You can also take a bunch of measurements and pictures and get a replica made.

Personally I prefer the skin mounts. The replicas always look plastic to me. Maybe I just haven't seen a good one tho.

Trophy Masters Taxidermy has a FB page. Seems like they have pretty good work too

This is a skin mount I had done, price was right and I've never seen a fiberglass one I liked. I also don't usually release any big fish except reds.

Look up Matthew Courville in Carencro. He does some great fish work. Hes got a red and speck hanging on his wall that look like they just got taken out the water. He is on FB and his number is 337-523-6288.

after having a skin mount done, watching the process and seeing how the skin loses all of its color and has to be fully repainted anyway...I'm gonna go fiberglass mount next
