Alleva told MIles he was safe Wed but Miles didn't believe him

This is from the Hayride article updated 11.29.15.
The Hayride
As usual, IF THIS IS TRUE......I have ZERO problem with Miles not believing him at all. Would you?? AND....why didn't Alleva make the very public announcement Wednesday and end all of this PR disaster?? Of course Miles did not trust him. There is no reason for letting this drag on through the GAME on Saturday night.
But that means that the tension between them is pretty bad. Not good for LSU and LSU football.
Unless there is a very compelling reason why Alleva did not make the announcement Wednesday, then he needs to go. This was PR hell.....
Somebody has some 'splainin to do.... to borrow a phrase.....

UPDATE: Per a follow-up conversation with a source close to the athletic program, one change to make – it wasn’t Saturday morning when Alexander tubed the buyout of Miles; it was Wednesday. But for the same reason.
We’re also told that Alleva actually told Miles his job was no longer in jeopardy after Alexander’s scuppering of the buyout, but the coach didn’t believe him. Which explains the rather strange and chaotic circumstance whereby Miles implied to his Friday Gridiron Club luncheon guests that he was on his way out and the athletic department had to hastily deny reports which surfaced to that effect out of that meeting.

So les was told he was safe, he caused the chaos, so you now blame alleva for that?
All Les had to say was He was told by Alleva on Wednesday that he was safe. He didn't have to believe it but you put the public word out on what you were told.

No announcement means you don't believe Alleva..... you can't be that brain dead...???

If this is the case Alleva should have made it clear on Wednea day that there would be no change. He could have saved at least some face for himself and the university. We could have avoided that whole awkward spectacle on Saturday.

he was told he's safe. what more is needed? You don't ahve to "believe it" but he went out and publicly said that its his last game.

Some of you dislike Les so much as a coach it effects your judgement on everything else

I wouldn't believe him either. If he was really safe then have Alleva call a press conference and say "Miles is our coach and will be next year. Have a great day!"

He has a policy tho

all Alleva had to do was tell Les then setup a short 10min presser to publicly announce that Les was still the man.

nope. les telling the public that he was told he was safe puts LSU in more of a bind on adhering to there word. Did Les "WANT" to leave? He was causing more chaos...

Man, that's a pretty big change - Wednesday now instead of Saturday? I think this Hayride's sources are kinda suspect.

If he makes the announcement on Wednesday, I believe all of those cheers before and after the game turn into boos.

Should be called the Hay-Lie.
