If DALSU was legitimate, HE would have been the one to tell us the Jimbo deal was off SPECIFICALLY because he claimed to be the source that it was a done deal.
And same for Random LSU Hero with his Revelations Bible quote lol.
Tools and fools....

So you're saying that Les Miles believed he was being fired simply because it was said in the media? Really?
No, but that doesn't make DALSU's "details form the inside" any less BS.

So am I, but if you don't believe there was a deal in the works to replace Miles with Jimbo you're more special than you think.
Did the deal happen? Has anyone other than you non-special folks confirmed such dealings? Now you can kindly GFY!

DALSU said there was a grace period. Scott McKay(Hayride) confirmed there was a 'deal' even if was not binding.
Joe Schad debacle confirms there was something brewing.
The only people who can cry "told ya so" are the people who said "it could fall through" until announced to public.
FWIW:
LunchToolBox argues EVERYTHING. He's a miserable but adorable shite. Go look at his post history before this issue. He'll argue whether the "sky is blue" when he's really bored/not getting laid.

All over a message board. Then in the news. All it takes is one person that is deemed "credible" and the avalanche starts.
you seem to be incapable of understanding that I didn't say there was nothing in the works. I never said any such thing. I said DALSU's specific details of the talks were BS. And very clearly, they were.

I was hoping with all my heart that DALSU was right, I even named my new dog after him.
Now we're gonna have to wait for Saban, Bielema, Freeze and sometimes Mullen to all retire for the LSU offense to work again.

I'm already making plans to be next year's new Inside Intel Guy for the Rant.
The only difference will be is that I'm going to set up a Paypal account and bleed y'all for my "scoop".

It may not settle it but it all makes sense. Especially King Alexander showing up at the Press conference and Bobby Jindal publicly coming out for Miles.
To believe that you'd have to believe the following:
* Boosters wanted Miles out so bad, that they committed to a 15M buyout...and ponying up for a 6M+ salary for Jimbo (pretty much confirmed)
* Alleva agreed with the decision and went so far as to negotiate a deal (pretty much confirmed)
* The BOS (in large part) clearly approved of the move (pretty much confirmed)
* LSU allowed the negative publicity to persist for over a week because they were so committed to the deal
* Jimbo agreed (actually agreed) to the deal and was ready to come
* Apparently, in this process, Alleva forgot to figure out if he could pull it off. And, the president, in opposition of his BOS, his AD, and several big money donors decided to unilaterally kill the deal. This political figure decided that he doesn't need to align himself with everyone with power at LSU.
This makes absolutely no sense.
CLEARLY, the Jimbo deal wasn't as secure as they thought. And, once it became apparent, Alleva and probably the boosters and BOS members originally on board with the change, got cold feet and totally backed off. Alleva probably found himself with no commitment for the buyout without Jimbo. And, he had no real process started to identify or land Plan B. Meanwhile, there is probably a bit of truth to Alexander being opposed to the move because of the optics of the financial situation at LSU.
But, make no mistake, in no way did Alexander put his foot down and kill the deal. That's ridiculous.

I wasn't the one posting details from my inside source, was I?

No, because he posted about coordinators and timelines

Done Deal means no one will nix it. It was bad info period.
I've had many work projects that were "done deals" all the way to right below the C level execs, only to be nixed by the C level execs for no other reason that to put their power on display. This happens in business quite a bit.

That I agree with. However, to toss around a single coach with chosen coordinators for an agreed amount and confirm it with conviction and almost absolute certainty is ridiculous. As is any defense of said person.
He was wrong plain and simple and no one knows what really happened except those who made it happen.

yes, because they didn't exist. We didn't have the coach, what makes you think we had coordinators agreed to coming here?

But this is specifically what you said in response to Chicken. I'm quoting directly.
quote:
Lunchbox, why was Miles's family on the field after the game? Why was he carried off by his players? Why was miles surprised in the press conference that he was returning as coach?
Because the media ran with a bunch of half baked info and made a spectacle of it?
It sounds exactly like you are saying the reason why Les' family came down on the field, flown in, carried off the field, etc. was because of the media.
Hell, Les even said in his press conference that he did not learn he was going to be coaching next year until after the game. You think he was assuming all this based on the media, and nothing from anyone other than media had been discussed with him?

You just contradicted yourself. You start off the post stating that you never claimed to know shite, and then proceed to post how it went down as if you indeed do know shite.
I don't know shite. I am going off of what has been reported. Jimbo was never a "done deal" but it has been reported there was some discussion. I believe there was but I also believe that's where it ended meaning that Jimbo wasn't already assembling a staff and had Muschamp on board.
