He didn't say in favor he said clearly in favor.

Bottom line is that there are very few scenarios that gets 10 to 4 while there are a few that can get 6 to 4.

Sorry, it was the other thread where you stated I was wrong about UNC having the better win if we beat Clemson. You did say it though.

I was just getting some people spun up.

I love how people say oh they lost to that terrible SC team...
Ohio State lost to a shite VT team last year that was awful.

2014 VT was not anywhere near as bad as 2015 South Carolina.

Yes they were and it was a home loss. So if it they weren't as bad IYO, the place of loss makes it as bad.

The sooner we get to an 8 team playoff the better.
If they went to eight, would Alabama have to lose three, or four games to be out of contention?

VT beat the national champs on the road, had a winning record, won a bowl game, and didn't lose to an FCS team. South Carolina went 3-9, beat UNC, UCF (everyone else did), and Vandy, and they lost to an FCS team. But yeah, they're almost the same.

Alabama and Ohio State would be in the playoff every single year if there were 8 spots.

That's as of today. There were some postings yesterday on how UNC's SOS would move very close to OSU's after the Clemson game

The average rank of their opponents would still be around 10 spots (depends who you use) lower than Ohio State's even with a win over Clemson.

Right but they would be approximately 10 spots lower, but be a conference champ. I think that makes it razor thin

Auburn in 2013 got embarrassed at LSU for their only loss of the season. Yeah we aren't VT or SCar, but it was an arse whipping that only looked better b/c of late TDs.

Point is, the UNC-USC game was the first game of the season. Are you not allowed to be rusty in the first game of the season? Was USC as terrible then as they are now?
That Auburn 2013 team turned it around and probably would have whipped LSU's arse at the end of the season, but at the beginning of the season they looked like they didn't belong on the same field as us and they had players getting killed out there.
If UNC played USC now, they'd win be 40.

They will be a 1 loss champion that will have as many top 25 wins as Ohio State has with a better win, although a much worst loss, and roughly the same SOS. If they get left out b/c of NCA&T and Delaware compared to Hawaii and Western Michigan, then this system is just stupid.

And i think OSU is a much much better team than UNC.

Maybe, but then you look at losses and other things like that. I don't think the committee would overlook the loss and two FCS games because they won the ACC, unless they left no doubt they were clearly better than Clemson.

I agree with this, and it may just be proven true this season. If not, it will happen at some point. OOC had a lot to do with the committee's decision last season, and I don't see why that wouldn't be the case this season.

really hard to know...North Carolina's best win (Clemson) will be better than Ohio State's best win (3-loss Michigan)...both 2-0 against common opponents (VA Tech and Illinois).

Is Ohio State's second best victory Penn State? Who is their third best win?

UNC can point to Pitt and Miami, I suppose, as their second and third best wins.

You have to take UNC over Ohio State if it comes down to it.

You also have to take Stanford over Ohio State if Stanford wins the Pac-12.

Like I said in another thread, this is the ultimate eye-test weekend.

When Ohio State crushed Wisconsin in the B1G championship game last season, it made it easy for the committee.

If Stanford whoops up on USC, they are in. If Stanford loses, and UNC beats Clemson by 2 touchdowns, they are in.

If Stanford loses and UNC squeaks by Clemson, that's where it gets interesting.

well, if the committee thinks that Clemson is the best team right now, after 12 games, they would need to give UNC the benefit of the doubt if they beat them and also have the nation's longest winning streak.
