The author gave no credence to this, which is in fact the more likely explanation.
There are multiple credible sources on other sites who have said this. King killed the deal.

Fire Alexander...this is fricking ridiculous.

Why would we believe any media report at this point? Or any "insider info"? This is all crap.
But please fire BOS, Alleva, King, because they all suck..

frick Alexander. We need to get rid of this son of a bitch one way or another.
LSU finally has a President/Chancellor worth a shite and people want him out.

That's depressing stuff.
Posted on 11/29/15 at 1:39 pm to ChurchillVFW
That's all it takes is for politicians and bean counters to get involved in making a good decision for the program.
Based on this article it sounds like Alleva was trying to do the right thing and get Fisher regardless of cost and King squashed it.
Both present and future governors "chiming in" didn't help matters either.
All this to further a "LSU is broke" campaign for the president.
Shameful.

Wow. Scott McKay. I can't believe this guy gets any credibility. But this is the rant...

You are incorrect sir. Check the time of my post last night when I called it- and posters claimed there was no way I knew.
In fact I did know . We simply need a new AD who has the skill set to manage his own job.

And all because yet another source claims to have the scoop on what reeaalllly went down.
When will this fricking board ever learn? Jesus, enough already!

This article rings true. And frankly, it doesn't bother me that much. Look, LSU is a state university, to think that the politics, that the Governor, the university president, don't have say-so in the football program is naïve.
I understand the sentiment, it's football, it's a business, get the politics out of it, but, when you're talking about this much money, politics is GOING to get involved. Yes, I understand, different pots of money, much of the money is not taxpayers' money.
The main thing that sticks in my craw is leaking of info to the media. Until a deal is done (ink dried on the contract) it ain't done.
If Miles can keep this 2016 signing class together, I will be mollified somewhat.
Under the facts/circumstances laid out in this article, Alleva does not look as bad.
My feeling all along, and it's still my feeling, is that there is no way to fire Miles at this point in time, and, I have hoped against hope he would step down. But he ain't stepping down, and sad to say, I just don't see a huge turnaround in the program's fortunes under Miles in the coming years.

Fire Alexander and Alleva
If thats true LSU is screwed no matter who the coach is. Dark days are here again.
Thats the difference between an LSU and a bama. They invest in championships, LSU does not.

I never had a problem with Scott McKay.
Articles like this are what got McKay the status of persona non grata at lsu.
Maybe lsu should toughen its skin and let this journalist back in the fold.
Time for lsu to get their shite together because when something like this happens in Tuscaloosa, the fire a Shula and get Saban. Hell, even Texas fricks up so bad that Bama gets to keep Saban.
When we do something like this, we trade a mediocre miles for a polished version of a mediocre miles.

The University of Alabama is borrowing money like crazy. Passing their bonds down the line and hoping they can pay those bills off in time.
Alabama is the family down the street with the perceived wealth that's actually broke.

Sorry that wasn't worded well. I meant to say that there are multiple people in the know who are claiming Alexander killed this deal.
