FWIW, I have always liked Les and secretly rooted for him to succeed as long as he's not facing/hindering the Hogs. In a college football landscape dominated by scandals and a constant money-grab by the coaches and programs, he's one of the few old school, high character, straight up football coaches left. He's always seemed to take things for what they are - a game played by teenagers and young men - and never taken it or himself TOO seriously...coughPETRINOcough....
Another thing: I've heard after the fact (from someone that would know) that Les' "talks" with Arkansas in 2012 were nothing more than an agent doing work for his client, and that Les wasn't after money as much as appreciation from the AD (I guess Alleva?). Apparently Les and Jeff Long are amicable and had some sort of behind-the-scenes understanding going into the leaked "discussions" basically saying that they weren't real but were if anyone asked. Long asked for input on his "coaching search" from Miles in return; which turns out was Long asking Miles' opinion on Bielema. Supposedly Miles did extensive "research" on Bielema for at least a few days and gave his approval.
I still think this is a pretty interesting story that doesn't get told enough.

Yeah so frick Miles for doing that. I hope Jimbo goes in dry on the hogs every year

Extensive research? I wonder if he used Chicago style as his citations in the documents he presented to long.

I don't know how many people bought into that Les-Arkansas story, but it wasn't very many here. Only Michigan caught his interest. And even then, it seemed like the Anti-Les crowd was saying "Yeah...take it!"
Post Retirement next week, I know that Mizzou is interested. But the ESPN rumor is strong on that one. Les Miles really does have a great charisma and entertainment factor to be an analyst.
But he will likely take a year off minimum.

Troll of the year, might be top5 all time. Saban to Texas and the guy who worked for the weather channel/ speculated on the 2012 election were better.

Time frame just keeps pushing back. Shocker.

DALSU has a rep for having good info. His stuff is well-followed and often deleted(conviently). Don't be fooled, his threads are good. FYI....this one will be deleted soon
None of his threads are deleted anymore. They get anchored because suckers like you are buying this guy's BS and keep making threads about him. So the admins allow it to stay up (anchored though) so the board isn't cluttered with threads asking about this guy.
He's got so many of yall fooled.

In case you haven't followed me(until now), I'm still buying the Herman rumor.
Until Jimbo is made official. And I do want Jimbo. I just think its too expensive and may be falling through.

Contrary to popular belief here, we actually do have fully competent and intelligent folks in our athletic department who are well aware of things that are going on including public perceptions being one of them. They know how to control this issue and have a plan. At times I feel like fans here think Miles is handling the new coaching hire and feel like were gonna get Cam and Steele again and flop. Too much inflection on Miles imcompetence has everyone elses perception distorted to believe that one mans incompetence represents out entire university's decision makers.
Well said.

Exactly what's dependable about his reputation? Didn't he predict only one thing before? Nothing he's said so far has been proven correct. It may be in the future, but not so far.

If OP was full of sh1t prior to tonight this thread would be whacked like a mole before page 3. That being said I like Jimbo a ton but part of me sees Herman as an elite coach w the big boys soon. Love his youth too but I'd estatic for Jimbo no doubt, win win as long as we get from those 2

I've been somewhat skeptical but he keeps posting daily and has not only avoided being banned but also had a thread whacked and then put back up. It's hard to take that as anything but the admins seeing proof of sources
How many times do I have to explain to you how meaningless this is?

Everytime I release a tidbit, MY thread gets whacked.
I have a few in the cooler right now. But I can't release them until the season is over.
There are a LOT of people reading this site. It's a rumormill. A good one.
And when good gossip comes, sometimes it gets whacked.

Exactly nothing. Everything he's made threads about have been vague and guess the most likely outcome.
He made a thread saying that Brandin Haris would be the starter on 8/19, after BH had been taking first team snaps pretty much all summer. Real inside info there.
Before the Syracuse game, he made a thread saying BH will throw 21-25 times. BH ended up with 16 attempts.
And now with all this situation, he posts nothing but vagueness and keeps pushing his timeline back. But he's already got so many fooled. I'd say I'm surprised, but it's not like this place is full of geniuses.
He could shut me up and post the out of left field DC's name, but he isn't going to because he's knows that would ruin his rep (even though the continuously being wrong about the timeline of the announcement should have already done that).

I haven't read anything in his threads that I couldn't have and have guessed.

Why do you care enough to post dozens of times about it?
This guy either has legit info or he doesn't.
Most of us here can make a reasoned judgement and don't require multiple posts of the same nature to know that LNCHBOX thinks he is FOS.
Neither his nor yours saying the same thing over and over and over make you more trusted or either your posts or his in any way necessary.

Then feel free to skip right over my posts. If DA can keep posting his BS, I'll keep posting mine.
