Coaches do this all the time. Get FSU to match what LSU offered. We might be SOL.

This was brought up many times last week. Nobody trusts sexton. If the Lsu people didn't plan for this and have some type of contingency plan in place, then shame on them.

Chip Kelly time. I for some reason saw this happening. LSU has a hard arse schedule compared to FSU.

Worse than that - we don't have more money than the Vatican, but act as though we can both spend record amounts of money on a buyout ($15 to $20 million by the time it was all said and done on Les and his entire staff if all replaced) and attract a $5 to $6 million a year coach, PLUS a comparable staff.

At least Texas swung for the fences (Saban) - can't blame them for trying - and by all reports, it was really close. We gave up a solid contact hitter, with power for a chance to sign a solid contact hitter with power.

This should have been evident when people started popping off about the entire coaching staff already being planned out..

That's kind of how you know it is utter bullshite. Yes, an incoming head coach can be expected to bring SOME of his staff with him, but this is by no means certain.

For example, a certain coach left East Lansing for Baton Rouge about 16 years ago without a single assistant in tow. There is a shite ton of politics and decisions related to recruiting and continuity that goes along with a transition.

Keeping Frank made sense. Keeping Orgeron made sense, but both of those guys will be looking at HC jobs this off-season. So, the whole "staff already planned out" crap was tip offs that the poster (and/or his source) was completely full of shite.

Well, I think that might be an exaggeration of what was shared about all that

What was said was certain requests were made

and feelers would put out...and then they probably heard these people were interested...but we know Coach O and Coach Wilson may get better opportunities so we know a staff takes a lot of time to pull together

but I am certain Jimbo would want to keep the class together and O and Wilson would go a long way in doing that

I wouldn't want to start with no one on the current staff before I agreed to come....one bad class can be your demise.

What do you mean "what if"? He will absolutely try to get a raise out of this. The only question is does FSU call his bluff?

Then offer Chip Kelly (the better offensive coach) 6 to 7 million.
