We win if we get any of those 4.

Agree J. I have him at 2 on my list after Jimbo.
there'd be an initial PR shite storm, but that will pass quickly through the news cycle
Chip obviously has the better resume, but for the reasons I mentioned earlier, he may not be a great fit.

Chip Kelly has been my #1. Nothing against Jimbo.
I don't know why everyone assumes Chip Kelly wouldn't find a way to operate an offense that wins in the SEC.

Jimbo
Chip
Herman
That's my top 3. Jimbo #1 for the easy transition at the school/recruiting.

But he has run a program at a high level which can't be said about Herman. It's scrap shoot on either really.

him running his offense isn't what would worry me about Chip.

Most of the SEC is running spread now. It's pretty much a myth that it doesn't work in the SEC.

Kelly has the reputation for being a racist. Whether it's true or not, it's out there.

I'm not saying Kelly couldn't do it because I think he can. I would be more concerned with recruiting. If Kelly comes in and brings in a Muschamp and keeps O and Frank I would feel much better.

Agreed, and I really hate watching his defenses

Jimbo seems like the highest floor but lowest ceiling.
I'll support whoever gets hired, but Chip > Jimbo > "Field" - guys like Fedora, Petersen, Patterson, Herman, etc...

Jimbo is clear cut #1 imo. Herman is second because he is honestly the next big thing in CFB. Chip would be legit though.
I haven't heard anything about Chip.

I don't think he is perfect but he resurrected a program in a very bad place
Not exactly. He did really really well at Oregon, but Oregon had some really good years not long before Chip Kelly took over.
He definitely didn't "resurrect" Oregon.

this.
herman is the best young coach in the game. he will be in a high level power 5 job by the end of next year.

I haven't really looked at Chip's staff in Philly so I don't know how many were with him in college and how many are NFL lifers....
But you'd have to wait on him to officially be fired, he'd have to assemble a new staff on the fly, get completely caught up on recruiting prospect wise, starting hitting completely foreign recruiting territory, etc.
There's just a lot that goes into it

Tom Herman is what Chip Kelly was when Oregon hired him to be their offensive coordinator, basically
Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Chip got the keys at Oregon.

his 2010 and 2011 classes were pretty solid, plus he would have better resources at LSU.

No, but he got them to the next level. Oregon was as good as it has ever been with Chip in control.
