a Thanksgiving Rant. (Long)

Maybe, for just ONE day, all these outraged, offended, "oppressed" individuals can shut their traps and be thankful for what they take for granted.
We, and this includes them, live in the richest country in the world.
Tomorrow we will feast on all manner of roast and fowl and fruit and vegetable, many from across the world. And the damned thing is we really don't have to wait for a holiday to do it. We could feast on whatever we like, for a pittance really, on any damn day we please.
The absolute plethora of food available to us is staggering, and we throw so much of it away. Our ancestors would be amazed at our bounty, that we don't, for the most part, have to raise or hunt and slaughter ourselves.
And ashamed of how much we take it for granted. If your grandparents/great-grandparents are alive, ask them what their dinners were like in the Great Depression.
We have at our literal fingertips access to all the collected knowledge of the world. Access to see sights (not to mention naked women) from across the world, experience things only the most privileged scholars and explorers of ages past would be privy to.
And still we bitch and moan because there may be a few seconds lag to access it.
We can communicate in a moment with loved ones across the globe, video chat across oceans.
Our ancestors could at best write letters to those they cared about which might never reach them in time.
And still we bitch and moan and complain.
We've got it all. Access to the best medicine, entertainment, food, drink, everything!
And yet some sad saps still find the time and energy to whine about how hard they have it!
Our "poor" people live better lives than some of the Kings of old!
Most of us cannot fathom how damn good we have it even in our bad times compared to the past, or the present in many places.
We live in a world where hurt feelings are the epitome of what we worry about!
Not "What wild animal may eat my baby." (Dingo, most likely)
Not, "what family memebers will die of some pestilence." (Still, frick Cancer.)
For most of us, we aren't worried about our sons dying on the front lines of some god-forsaken war where the dead number in the hundreds of thousands month to month. (And I pray we don't. For the sake of all of our young people.)
We have it too good! We've lived the life of Riley so long that those who remember what REAL struggle is like, on a massive scale, are dead or getting there quick.
Those that claim to be so put upon, so oppressed, so "woe is me" need a swift kick in the arse and a bop on the nose, and to be reminded that a hundred years ago, they'd be too worried about surviving to be offended. Or outraged.
Folks, enjoy your turkey and your football and your family. Enjoy your time off, your kids, your hobbies.
Because we don't know when the pendulum of history will turn and it'll all go in the shitter again. These are the halcyon days.
Make the most of them.
Version
Offended people need to STFU and eat their damn turkey because they aren't oppressed and living in the best of times. If anyone starts giving you guff about SJW or #activism or any other political crap tomorrow you should beat them about the face and head with a turkey leg.
/rant.
Happy thanksgiving.

Seems like everyone is now this guy over one thing or another. Can't we all just get along?

Nice. Let's eat.
Hopefully some people saved their food stamps for the month, and they can enjoy thanksgiving, too. With a mouthful of free food, maybe they will shut the frick up for the day.

I just wish all these dumbarses who feel oppressed would go visit Mexico,Nicaragua,Venezuela, Africa,India, and other countries who really don't give a shite how you feel.
Go live a year there. When they come back you won't hear a fricking word.
IF YOU PEOPLE FEEL OPRESSED GET A TICKET AND LEAVE THE COUNTRY, SIMPLE.

You may as well ask that all of the fundamental forces in the universe be invalidated.

Oh, you can believe they'll be out in full force tomorrow trying to spread their brand of holiday "cheer."

Sounds like you've got it pretty good and always have.

I normally hate these whiny posts about sjw/liberals but I agree with this one.
Give it a rest for one.fricking.day.
