For those of you that have followed him since he has been head coach at FSU what is his overall:

Offensive & defensive philosophy?

Strengths and weaknesses of his teams and coaching?

Recruiting?

he won a natty. That is about it.

He runs a pro style offense.

You LSU fans shouldnt worry too much about getting him though. He has a better shot at future natties if he is not in the SEC west.

True and LSU fans should be ashamed of themselves for falling for it. We had to deal with a Sexton client before.

Speaking of which, you guys prepared to go to $10 million, even if Nicky flubs the playoffs? I mean, if he wins it all, you have to go $10 million, but what if he doesn't?

Feel dumb about what? I'm fairly certain that Jimbo Fisher is not going to be the HC at LSU in 2016. I don't feel dumb about saying it or that it is true.

Why on Earth would Jimbo Fisher leave FSU to come to LSU when he will almost certainly get the offer matched by FSU (and is the whole reason this seems to be occurring)?

And then the LSU AD gets his, "Oh shite - I've been had by Jimmy Sexton moment." - now, he'll probably have some other client waiting in the wings who may or may not have real interest in the job.

But, it won't be Jimbo Fisher. This is some kind of collective delusional fantasy y'all are having.

Ok, come back and read this next week. He isn't happy in Tallahassee, sometimes these decisions are motivated by more than just football

not all coaches you can get already have a natty and those that are up and comers would relish the thought of being at LSU. But the likes of Dabo (yes I know he has no natty) and Jimbo and the Urbans of the world are not coming. It will be people like the Houston or the Memphis coaches who will never win a natty at their current schools.

coaches are going to look at their path to a NC and some conferences like the ACC have an easier path then the SEC. So why would a high profile ACC coach leave. That is all I am saying.

I'd be prepared to pay Saban a million more than anyone else. Someone gives a legit $19 million offer, give him $20 million. No price is too high to keep him unless he starts producing consistent 3 loss or greater seasons.

And Terry Saban was happy in Baton Rouge - wouldn't let Nick uproot the family for South Florida.

Ok, you'll be able to keep thinking this for a few more days.

The better thing to discuss is are you going to be happy with fisher as the coach?

Or, are you going to feel cheated if they fire Miles and hire Fuentes?

I think you should look a little closer at the possibility

I'll jump in and say, "Yes" - but Fisher isn't the only coach who would be a great hire.

Keep what up? My rational analysis that LSU's next head coach won't be Jimbo Fisher (for a lot of good reasons), or your (and others) delusions this is something other than a Sexton ploy for more money from FSU?

I think a lot of Fisher as a coach. But many LSU fans hated him while he was the OC - many of these same negas chasing Les out the door and chanting Jimbo's name were cursing the predictable and conservative playcalling associated with him, even while Saban was the head coach.

Is a Tom Herman/Jason Fuentes/Klingsbury or a hire of that stature going to do it for you?

(Because that is who we will end up with - someone in that range.)

It is not going to be Jimbo Fisher, unless there is just some huge unknown piece of the puzzle I'm not aware of - and the "not happy in Tallahassee" schtick isn't going to do it for me.

If FSU faces severe sanctions in the near future? Maybe. If there is going to be a big shake up or severe money issues at FSU that will affect the football team operations? Maybe. But, just to offer him some money to change jobs? Meh. Ain't happening.

Generally pro-style offense, but he has installed a few option packages here and there.

He built the FSU defense to closely resemble what was being done at LSU and Bama.

Strengths and weaknesses of his teams and coaching?

He's a relatively conservative play caller. That was a common criticism of him while he was the OC at LSU under 2 different (conservative) head coaches.

Recruiting?

He has done a stellar job at FSU - to be fair, it is an easier school for which to recruit. He tends to do well with QBs and WRs - at least at LSU, OL recruiting was a challenge - we got top guys, but we always seemed short. He is well regarded as a recruiter.
