Why would he want come back here. As I recall he basically got run out of town by the same group of so called fans wanting miles to go now. Same thing was said then. Offense sucks. Predictable bla bla bla. Same spew different year. Why would he come back here so you guys could bitch wine and moan about how he's not good enough....

Your recollection is incorrect.

You have a horrible memory.

Coaches develop an affinity for different places. He was part of something special. He's part of the reason we are a national power even now.

He went to FSU because he was the head coach in waiting there. I think I remember he almost left because it took Bowden so long to retire.
That said, the reason I think he wouldn't want to come here is that he already has everything he needs to succeed at FSU

I don't remember anybody ever saying that. But I do remember him coaching Matt Mauck, Josh Booty, and Rohan Davey well enough to cause them to play out of their minds. And he made Marcus Randall a serviceable qb on this team, which is an enormous feat.
I remember him maximizing playmakers like Josh Reed, Devery Henderson, and Michael Clayton. I also remember being able to run the football on pretty much every team we played.
So I hope he's our next coach.

Do you realize who is HC was the last 2 seasons he was here? Does our offense look any different to you? Common thread?

Offensive coordinator under Miles. Uphill since then.

He quit because some idiot head coach wanted to call the plays for him.

Jimbo was roasted here for being too predictable.

If he comes and isnt trolling Alleva, it will be because its the best conference with the best facilities on the biggest stage at a university he feels love for.
But namely to prove himself head-up vs Saban on a yearly basis.
Jimbo may think the student is smarter than the teacher at this point.
(Jimbo was conservative here because he was playing for 2 of the most conservative HCs ever at the time. He runs more formations at FSU now than any other out there I believe. Upwards of 60 or so. still a Pro set with some spread tendencies but balanced as usual.)

because LSU is very special place, culture, SECW, passion, resources, and instate talent...the stadium for goodness sakes! Still voted #1
No head coach who left LSU who looked back thought it was a good decision.
Jimbo knows the deal...I am willing to bet money he has talked to Saban about the LSU job on a number of occasions...

one, criticism of jimbo never got out of hand until miles became coach. two, maybe he'd come back because he would call all the shots instead of wearing miles handcuffs... just a thought

Jimbo was just sick of Miles' meddling in his offense and the micromanagement that came with it. His daughter sees a doctor here in Baton Rouge and they commute back and forth quite often.

I remember the same. People said he was too predictable and didn't maximize their talents

You, and posters who make things up to support your "our fans our horrible" narrative should be banned, IMO.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Yes, there were fans that didn't like his offense, but to say he got run out of town by the fans? Do you hear how stupid this sounds? I'm amazed at the level of childish finger-pointing on this site.

The funny thing is, if Jimbo was here the last three years and they'd gone exactly the way they have at FSU some of these idiots would want him on the hot seat next season. Can't you hear it? We got blown out by Oregon in the playoffs; it's such an embarrassment to the program. We barely beat Miami this year and Clemson destroyed them. Then we lost to our biggest rival and they are #1 in the country right now. We lost to a bad GT team and are on our way to a shity10-2 season. Blah blah blah. Don't say it's not true. All you have to do is search posts on this board between 2012 and 2013.
