Call me what you want, but I want Miles to stay.

I get as frustrated as others, but I see nothing but downside to running Miles out of town. Should there be changes, yes. But I don't see us having a better coach once this all shakes out.

Ok I'll be the one to finally ask this question: what specifically do you like about Les Miles ability/style/scheme as a head coach that you'd favor over other coaches besides the fact that he won a lot of games from 2005-2007 and 2009-2011?
ETA: if you can't answer this question in detail, don't start this thread

I think you are more worried about finding a better or equivalent "Man" than a "Coach".

if we get a coach who can recruit at the same level, and can coach offense. There are zero drawbacks of letting les go.
ZERO.
ZERO.

i'm not gonna call you anything. I want him to stay too. I think next year this team will improve a lot and I would like to see this years class get signed intact.
no matter what miles isn't gonna be here that much longer and I would like to see the break done in a classy manner.

I remember sitting through the Dinardo & Hallman years.
I'll take Les any day over that true misery.

Do you really like the product on the field? It is awful and has been on the offensive side for years. It is a goddamned Benny Hill episode and a comedy of errors all the time. Zero game-planning to the your opponent's weaknesses. Just do your thing and hope it works, no adjustments. The wins aren't much fun these days....they are hard to stomach, at least for me, because you get the sense that in more capable hands the results would be different.

you think we cant get better than 4-7 in the SEC West over the last 2 years?

If we could do better....why wouldn't you want us to?

There's always a chance that we will struggle post-miles. The fact is we ARE struggling mightily with him. I think it's time to take that chance

Even if a take a small hit in recruiting, I think we can more than make up for it if we get a coach who can develop QB in a modern offensive system that has some creativity.

These idiots don't see that. All they see is Miles' 2-loss national championship and a lot a wins that were painful as hell to watch.

So the constant refusal to adapt to college football is fine to you? The absolute nightmare of quarterback development doesn't matter? You are satisfied with a guy who can get his assistants to recruit so he can piss them off for 3 years and then they can go to the NFL? Do you not want to try to get any better??

What is it you people aren't getting about this?
HE WON'T CHANGE!
HE WON'T ADAPT!
Les Miles is who he is, stubborn to the end.
Mack Brown, Part II.

I like the power run game, but admit that Miles needs to add a short/quick passing game to match up better against certain teams. He needs to make a move at OC to get a OC that can do just that as well as develop a quarterback for that system.
On defense, we have been hurt by early entrants and a few guys not panning out (Valentine/Bain). So we are thin at spots where we usually have depth.
Les should fill any holes with top recruits or JUCOs for next year if there is any chance to make a run at a title.
From a program continuity standpoint, I prefer Les stay and we have a transition to someone else. To me, this process puts to much at risk.
I think many posters are counting on a home run hire being lined up. I consider the possibility that one is not, and I see a potential for a prolonged decline. Compare that to the possibility that Miles rights the ship, I'll go with Miles.

Hey, you're loyal. But to a fault. Even when it's beginning to crumble. Much the same as Miles. Unfortunately that's part of what has created our problem.
