He lost me with arkansas. I've been accepting of the win ugly but win philosophy. But you have to win. Once we lost to bama, our only chance at the playoffs was to blow out our last three opponents. Watching the Arkansas game, it was obvious Les wasn't going for that. That was what convinced me that Les isn't willing to change.

Just torn, like I said.
I agree we're wasting talent, there are no to little adjustments, and I don't like that.
On the other side, I look at what the man has done in his tenure.
I guess I do what a change too but I don't want him to just be fired, like he's been terrible his entire time here.
I mean it's almost like losing an uncle or something.
One thing I will say I'm not a fan of is having the boosters "determine" (this is how I interpreted it) saying "we'll tell you (Alleva, who I am not a fan of) to hire.
It'll set precedents. Next guy comes in, "well, we don't like him, so here's who you should hire."
This is a bit exaggerated but it's close to having the inmates running the asylum.
And no, I'm not sure if Alleva would know who to hire.
The whole situation just stinks.

I hate to say it but I thought the same thing.
Just wish it wasn't like this. Oh well, what can you do?
I do think he deserves better than to just be fired like he was some busboy. No offense to any busboys reading this.

I think we need to meet and discuss this - last night I was up till wee hours b/c someone posted a thread on coaches changes board.
Maybe we can setup a support group?
I gotta sleep sometimes

Which if looked at as a whole is a great tenure. But it's front loaded. He is being paid too much for the lack of success that we have had recently.

He's going to be paid very well. We should all be so lucky.
I think anyone coming in will say if they are willing to pay me this much, I better deliver. That's the way it should be though.

I can't really disagree with that.

i wouldn't have a problem with les staying even though his offensive philosophy needs to change , but now our defense and special teams are as bad as the offense and i just don't see that changing for the better ....
i feel he has had a big enough budget and the freedom to make the changes needed to his staff , unfortunately he hasn't made the right decisions for his team to compete for conference titles and the rest of the sec are passing les by .....
i thank les for all the good times watching his teams in TS but its time for a change .....
btw i also think the AD is a part of the problem and needs to go as well ....

If we lose to Alabama and beat Ole Miss and Arkansas this ain't happening. Getting arse raped twice by Arkansas and belittled by Ole Miss, being a leader in penalties, being near the bottom in pass offense, not recruiting or developing a competent QB, hiring rejects to run your offense, defense & special teams and yet having the most players in the NFL points to a serious management problem. People on the outside just see a record. Real fans are tired of the same shite over and over costing us. We're tired and some are becoming apathetic which is worse. Time to take our lumps and let Les go.
This. Everybody that is against letting Miles go after the Texas A&M game prefer mediocrity and prefer LSU to drive further into the depths of irrelevance.
There were several publications this summer ranking Miles anywhere from outside of the top 10 to somewhere in the 20s of college football coaches, now those people are giving LSU fans shite for wanting to do something about that?
Miles was once a top 3 coach in CFB. Right behind Saban and Meyer, he is not that same guy anymore. Cut out the infection before it can do any more harm. We aren't Nebraska or Tennessee, we have a gold mine of talent in our own back yard. We don't have to share like Michigan and the Texas argument is bad too when you realize Texas let Mack Brown run that program into the ground for 5 long years. He was snagging only top rated recruits early and sitting on his hands hoping the talent would out talent other teams.
Auburn will be much better next year. TAMU will be much better next year. Florida will be much better next year, Ole Miss is losing some talent, but they bring back their QB and several good WRs and at least 3 of the 5 OL. Bama is Bama and we have to go to Wisconsin next year.
That looks like another 4-5 loss LSU team with Miles at the helm.

Despite what many think here, LSU doesnt recruit itself.
the big programs that pillaged this state are thrilled with this.

Yep agreed. When you make the big dollars there is a lot of pressure that comes with it.
Think about the pressure these guys are under - for the money that they make? Is it worth it?

I like SVP and he is probably right, but the question is matching that past success for that same period in the future. Seems far less likely with current staff than making a change.

I would trade places with him in a second.
And if they aren't up to it, then they shouldn't get that type of money and shouldn't get a program like LSU.

That is impressive. That makes me think more of him. In general I thought he is a poor ESPN analyst and an Ohio State homer. He was/is annoying in his bias to OSU and Big 10 teams. If what you say is true, then has earned some respect from me (not that matters to him or anyone else).

Agreed. I just enjoy my free time and family to work literally year around.
I guess I could bring my clubs on away games. ??

People praise Miles on here for being a great recruiter. He's a good recruiter. Bama whipped our arse on the field 4 weeks ago, but really the game was won on the last 4 national signing days. The talent and depth on defense was clearly evident. Some blame Chavis or Haley, but it ultimately falls on Miles for getting outrecruited

Nailed it. Miles did not win NC with Saban's players, but he won it with the remains of that system that focused on intensity, on field discipline, focus, and accountability. Miles is a better recruiter because he can attract the talent he has without the same results, but the lack of team qualities Saban left behind are what is lacking and the cause of the decline in the past 4 - 5 years.

I think I could go a couple years getting paid millions for a job that I, well actual coaches, love doing.
