I have a beaver problem

I have at least two Beavers on a piece of property and they frickinh suck. Every dam I tear down they build another in a week. It floods about 15 acres which isn't a big deal till we get a decent rain then it makes most the propert inaccessible.
I have some steel traps (not sure what size but they are recommended size for coyotes). I was told to make a small pedastal and put it in the water with some debris covering the trap on it and they will crawl up there and get caught. Not sure if it will work. I also found a small narrow spot and put a snare where they are traveling under a log.
Does anyone else have suggestions on how to get rid of them? I don't want to have to sit out there all night waiting with a .22 but that may be my only option.

Trapping and shooting them is the best you can do. Buy a bunch of tannerite and blow up the dam. See if they rebuild after that.

330 conibear, you can make a dam set which is pretty easy. Another productive set is at the hut or bank den. I'm no trapper and can catch them. Search YouTube for some how to vids. They're our hogs before we had hogs, now we have both. Just be careful if you've never messed with 330's, they will hurt you.

I've heard that if you take long sections of pvc and lay it in the hole after you tear down the dam works. They rebuild over the pvc, not realizing that it is continually draining the pond. Eventually they just leave.

My family has dealt with them for centuries.

Whatever you do, don't buy it a ring and fiddle with it too much. It won't leave.
