He's been demoted before, so I could see him kept on as a LBer coach/recruiter if the new HC wanted, but I wouldn't keep him honestly if I were a new HC.
Since he left, Bama's defense, especially the LBers have improved a ton this year from last.

Why? His defense was not very good. It regressed each year he was DC and barely did enough in the NC year. With the offenses we had the past 6 years his defenses would not keep him employed.

Absolutely--I recall when all those names of possible DC's were surfacing, Steele ranked near the bottom of the list.
