What has BDP done in recruiting?

I really would like to know. Were we hurt when he left after his first stint?

Is his recruiting prowess so imperative that it outweighs the express harm he causes as a coach?

Finally, how can someone who is so horrible as a coach be such a good recruiter?

With an effective offensive scheme and possibly a more instilled defensive scheme, those results would be different.

A lot of what you mention though is about player mindset. That is on Les but the two point I make above might help that.

In reality:

1) Cam is fired. (takes the blame)
2) New OC is hired.
3) Miles continues heading the offense
4) same results

Mettenburger was the anomaly. Also, that's why my points hit the defense......2013 defense was soft.

Really, how difficult can it be to recruit to LSU?

Hence my mentioning CEO......unless Les takes his hands off, nothing will work.

3. BDP to be moved to an admin role
5. Off season conditioning needs to draw on the 2011 off season. That edge needs to be brought back.
6. Pocic to LT and Clapp to OC for next year

1.- Is a given.
2.- Cameron has produced some pretty good offenses. After really being tested, evidently LSU OL just isn't who we thought they were.
4.- I think Steele should get a chance with more of his own recruits, which might take a bit longer than you allow.

The other points I'm onboard with, especially #5.

So, in your scenario, with Cam out, do we still get Franks, or are we a QB free zone for the next couple of years?

BDP is a recruiting asset. Like it or not.

People keep saying this but, who cares?

There are other people who can recruit. And really, what difference does getting these great recruits do when year after year the coaches cannot put them in positions to succeed.

BTW: I am for getting rid of the entire staff except O and Wilson.

I would love to see this. I want coaches who care more about the program than the pay check...I also have to think sending an 8 time pro bowler (not sure if its 8) into a recruits home would have to be great for recruiting.

Steele was a bad hire and we all knew it. You can give him a year to make sure, but it will just be a waste of time.

Kevin should be the oline coach, its clear Grimes can't get it done the last two games.

Steele would be ok if he wasn't stupid. he is trying to jam our dbs into a fricking round hole when they don't fit. Its like what les and camtard are doing with spread option qb in a pro style offense.

eta which on both accounts is an indictment against miles as a shitty manager. He can't figure out simple things like you bring in a man to man type dc when you have our talent.

people seem to forget that in the 2013 season LSU set several records on offense. 3000 yd. passer, 2 1000 yd. rec. 1000 yd. back.

A statistical outlier (passer, rusher, two receivers) is not a record. A record is scoring the most points, gaining the most yards, scoring the most td passes, scoring the most rushing tds.

Also, we may never again see the freak set of skill players that the 2013 unit had all in their junior or senior year (Hill was 3rd year out of high school). I think talent had something to do with it.

Will someone give specifics on Pevito's recruiting? Who did he flip? Who are his big gets? All I hear about is Franks, and he's not on campus yet, do that's not a done deal.

I agree that talent has something to do with it but we have talent now. also, people are just acting like cam doesn't know shite and yet he proved he could do it just 2 years ago. yes, with tremendous talent but we could/should be a much better offense now with a more mature qb and miles doing whatever he did in that 2013 season.
