Will Memphis finish .500? How about the Pelicans? Utah? How about Minnesota? Denver? Portland? Who rounds out the West playoffs?

I see Memphis, Dallas, Utah and New Orleans all fighting for the last three spots with 46-48 wins getting you that 7th & 8th seed.
Edit: Forgot Phoenix too

This thread got a weee bit derailed....but back to topic.
It all depends on how you define dominance; if you put it at a percentile, I don't think we're going to be seeing 60-40 West over East again.
That said, I think most of the reason behind this is going to be the shift into better competitiveness for middle of the pack Eastern Conference teams.
I think seeing 55-45 West is going to be the norm for the next few years-- right now, the West is also home to the league's major underperformers, plus hasn't had its best teams play a ton of interconference games yet.
It'll all balance out.

No HOU is the better team.
You are adorable

The East is currently 21-17 vs. the West.

To add to this, this translates to a 0.553 winning percentage.
Last season, the East was 187-263 vs. the West. 0.415 winning percentage.
BUMP
Unless my calculation is wrong, the East is currently 201-213 against the West this year. A winning percentage of 0.486.
The 'dominance' is over. The West is still clearly better at the top, and the East is dragged down a bit at the bottom by Philly's play. Other than that, the conferences are at least equal, and you can certainly argue that the East is more balanced.

Spurs/Warriors are 48-8 vs the East.
I wonder how much of the current difference is strictly due to 2 of the greatest teams of all time being in the West?

We must have different opinions of "dominance." Playing close to 450 games, somebody has to have a better record.

And for the 500th year in a row, it's the West. And the two overwhelming favorites to win the title are in the West.

It's time for non-conference based playoff seeding in the nba. Spurs-GSW shouldn't have to face ech other without the title on the line
Posted on 3/25/16 at 10:53 am to RonBurgundy
Other pro sports don't do it like that, why should the NBA?

Let's keep pushing those goalposts.

I heard that repeatedly when the Lakers led by 4 hall of famers were supposed to embarrass the Pistons in 2004.
That's one way to look at it. Someone else can say that the cavs (or raptors) will have a tougher route to the conference finals than the Warriors or Spurs.
