I went to school in Memphis and love my memories of college there, but it is so far behind the other cities you mentioned in terms of appeal it's not funny.

man, traffic sucks. Not as bad as ATL, but it sucks. Green Hills is awful. Brentwood to the city is awful. Brentwood's exits are lined all the way to the interstate most days at 5:00 too.
don't get me wrong, this city is the place to be right now. It's a hot spot.

Nashville Traffic

TomTom’s report shows, much as it did in 2014, that Nashville’s traffic congestion is among the worst in the U.S.

eh, maybe not in that number but it's definitely rampant down here.
the building i work in has casting calls probably once or twice a month.
watching the talent coming in and out of the building is jaw-dropping.

If you are going South (1-65), Southeast (Antioch, Murfreesboro), East (E. Nashville, Lebanon), Northeast (Hendersonville, Gallatin) the traffic is pretty fricking miserable.

as someone who commutes to and from the 12th S area, and travels all over the city for my job, I bolded the areas you wrong regarding traffic.

you can scoot around that by using granny white and 12 south.
there is NEVER traffic during rush hour taking that through the gulch out to green hills despite how backed up 65 gets.

I was just trying to get a list together of the major cities in the South. I guess I should have included Birmingham as well.

Nashville is a great city, but its traffic isn't one of the things that makes it great.

you sir are a true Nashvillian. Don't tell too many people about this. I live in 12 S area but closer to the Gulch. I handle some accounts in Green Hills and use this route weekly.

Buddy just bought a place right off 65. Maybe the Old Hickory exit? Can't remember the exit. He lives off Culpepper Ct in Brentwood. One of the first brentwood exits headed on 65 S if you're coming from the city.

fair enough. i'm just saying in the 20 years i've lived here i've never had issues with traffic.
