Saban's SEC record at LSU was 28-12. He is currently 59-12 at Alabama vs SEC

Why is he so much better at Bama than he was at LSU?
Posted on 11/8/15 at 7:06 pm to The Mick
Because he is a great coach at a place that will do anything to win.

Better resources, name recognition, power, and improvement as a coach.

He's better now than he was when he was here.

You combine the facts that-
1- he's a great coach
2- he has not fu--info morals and will do anything to win
3- he is at a school that has no morals and will do anything to win
4- the SEC office is in Alabama's back pocket
5- ESPN has mercilessly promoted him since he went to Alabama
6- He has a nation of Wal mart fans behind him
7- Alabama is, beside Mississippi, the absolute shittiest state in the nation. Football, and therefore the football coach, are Gods here
It is what it is. the Gumps got a mulligan in 2011. They had ineligible players the next year that were seemingly forgotten about. They are a team that "doesn't have to cheat to win....bit wins more than they should because they cheat"

His name recognition was super when he got to Bama. He instantly was able to sway recruits from the day he arrived. He was just starting to get to that point at lsu when he left.
How good would he have been with Russell, Bowe, Doucet, Davis, Addai, Landry, Jackson, etc?

I don't understand how our fans don't understand this.
The Alabama he took over was a little further along than the LSU he took over. That's number 1.
Second, he hadn't established his name yet so he couldn't recruit at the insane clip day 1 when he started at LSU. He had just started to string together number 1 recruiting classes in 03 and 04, so they never quite ripened under his direction.
If Saban had stayed to actually coach up those talented rosters and continue stringing together these classes, no doubt LSU would be sitting as the dynasty of the 2000's right now with about 3 extra championships than we have now.

You are a pretty shallow thinker

Exactly. DiNardo started the process but Saban basically had to build LSU's infrastructure.
Alabama was already pretty much a turnkey operation once they got a coach worth a damn.

He was a failed NFL coach who quit after two years when he took over at Alabama.

What a second, what is your theory here?
Posted on 11/8/15 at 7:20 pm to Walking the Earth
No deep theory, just saying he didnt start at Bama with 5-star kids beating his door down to play for him. He builit it.

To put it simple for dumb fricks on here, he is a tactitian
He will scheme his opponents weaknesses and exploit them
He will always be 2 steps ahead of this coaching staff; fact
down vote all you want but in your heart of heart you all know it's true

1. While the ceiling at LSU is high, its even higher at Bama.
2. He's likely improved as a coach since then, a lot more SEC experience.

He actually did, though.
I guess you can hold the 2007 class against him but he had less than a month to build it. His 2008 class had Julio Jones and Mark Ingram.
There's a reason the Alabama AD flew down to Miami to essentially convince Saban to quit the NFL.
