College Football News Prediction: Bama 27 LSU 17

Look, it's not like a score like this couldn't possibly happen. This could be the exact result we see on Saturday. Alabama has a great team and has picked up two impressive wins, games in which they look like they could beat anyone in the country. However, I think it's more likely that LSU wins by the margin (or a similar margin) CFN gave.

Alabama's front three, seven, eleven, etc., could indeed cause a reduction in LF7's rushing prowess. If you're telling me that their defense will stop him cold and not allow a run over 20+ yards, I take issue with that, given the dominant performance we've seen by Leonard Fournette all season long. Even if Bama's defense limits Lenny to 20 carries for 80 yards, you still have to stop Guice and Williams, who you better believe will be ready to make a name for themselves in what a lot of pundit's have tabbed the "Game of the Year." LSU's running game WILL get 150+ rushing yards and two touchdowns, book it.

Also, CFN, and a lot of other prognosticators for that matter, are going with the "Brandon Harris has improved, but he can't put up the same kind of numbers against Bama" mission statement. They haven't watched Harris's every play like we have. LSU fans know what they have in Harris, and laugh at the notion that he will collapse in Tuscaloosa.

Is Bama's front seven better than LSU's? I would say yes. However, is LSU's offensive line, receivers and running backs better than Bama's? Yes, and it's not even close. Would you take Coker over Harris? Hell no. Would you take Henry over Fournette? An EMPHATIC no. The separation gap of the two offenses is a lot bigger than the talent gap when you compare the two defenses.

Will this game come down to the wire? I believe it will, but unlike last year, look for LSU's defense to save the day and cause Bama's offense to turn the ball over on downs in the final minute of the game. Also, look for Bama's defense/special teams to get in the end zone one time to make the game look closer than what it should be.

LSU 30
Bama 24 F

Fiutak said Bama was clearly the best team in the country again yesterday. So consider his analysis with that in mind.

Not nervous at all. It's my prediction of what will happen based on what I've seen this season and recent history. Hope we beat the shite out of them. But we have a tendency to make things hard. Fumble at the 1, penalty when trying to put the game away, poor officiating, busted coverages all in our last few matchups. Our coverage teams have been terrible so far.

Actually, Pete is typically a pretty big LSU fan, at least in his writing. Go back over the years. He typically likes us.

We're 5-2 over the last 15 years in Tuscaloosa. Take heart and enjoy the ride.

Nope, didn't happen. But if it did happen, Bama was tired.

Uh, we are #1 in their rankings. If that's hate, bring it on.

27-17 LSU

Coker is a statue back there, and their offensive line sucks.

When you only analyze Alabama's strengths, and don't consider their weakness or the strength of the other team, it is easy to reach conclusions like this. It isn't accurate.

Yeah, I think they've picked LSU to lose twice up until this point and we're still undefeated.

I wouldn't call him a total statue. I've seen him run some when forced to.

I hate Alabama. I can't stand this time of year. Its just a forgone conclusion that Bama will wipe the field with LSU. Why even bother showing up? Lets put Bama in the top 4 because.... Bama. 5 TOs against Ole Miss? Fluke. Florida's only loss is to #2 LSU? Eye Test. Leonard Fournette has run over everyone he's faced. Greatest player in college football, "might be one of the ten best backs in the NFL right now" but will be shut down because Bama. I'm sick of it. SICK. OF. IT. You don't think our guys see this? Hear this crap? You don't think LF and his team of savages are going to be ready to throw down Saturday night? frick Bama. Geaux Tigers. LSU wins by 2 scores, the Heisman committee gets an early start by stenciling Leonards name on this years trophy, the melt on Feinbaum will be epic on Monday.
