As in notice do you mean your boss walking to your office and telling you that you have been selected to take a drug test? That's how it happens where I work. Someone will watch you until you take a piss.

Excess of anything is bad for you. I smoked a ton in college and I do feel that I didn't live up to my own expectations, but that was my fault, not marijuana. I quit to get a job and haven't smoked since. I would like to on occasion as it is an excellent method of stepping back from a ledge and unwinding from stressful situations, but as a father and a husband I won't put them in jeopardy over enjoying myself. When it becomes legal...

Who refers to smoking weed as using? That seems more like jargon used to describe a habit by heroin/meth/crack addicts.

The want to get high is all that matters to most young stoners. Real life will catch up with them at some point. Thanks Obama

Its nice to get blazed here and there, but habitual use has so many bad effects on your memory, thinking, and even wallet. I used to spend like $40 a day on this habit easy.

There are actually many companies that don't feel the need to test for it. My first job out of college tested, but not the one I've been at for the past 6+ years. I just never started back up due to starting a family and it still being illegal. If you are smoking and subject to random on the spot testing you deserve to be fired. Not because you smoke pot, but because you are too stupid to work anywhere.

that's f'd up, we were given 2 days notice that tests would be administered. i just figured it was law :/

i played college football and even got notice then. it was always one of the "on the level" assistant coaches giving notice so perhaps they were just doing us a favor. i still never failed. in fact, i may have pissed a few times a still been a bit stoned. it's all about the toxicity of the urine that's coming out.

I don't think I've ever heard anybody claim that smoking weed for years on end is good for you.

Who are you arguing with here?

I've got some friends that have burt that stuff for 30+ years. They are good people, but their short term memory is for shite. I smoked when I was young, but I stopped using in my late 20's. These folks smoke all day every day and their brains don't function very well. Continue smoking young people, you'll be a shite for brains by the time you are 50. FREEDOM !!!

Wow. I don't even know where to begin with this nonsense. You have a habit of posting really stupid shite, but this probably takes the cake.

Madeleine Meier from Duke published an important study in 2012 in a major journal that followed over 1000 New Zealanders over time. They did neuropsychological testing at ages 13 and 38 and found that early regular use of MJ was associated with up to an 8-point loss of IQ, and that is very significant

That's because people that start at an early age (13) run the risk of gray matter development issues. No one is advocating for young teenagers to be able to use marijuana. You think this "association" with an IQ drop is bad? What happens to the brain of a 13 year old who starts drinking?

I know people that smoke everyday and are verifiable geniuses. I know two different stoners that design microchips.

I know one guy who doesn't drink or smoke and he is a dumbass.

See how anecdotal evidence works?

Individual differences, my friend. The endocannabinoid system differs from person to person. Hence, different people feel different effects.

Carl Sagan used marijuana regularly:

"The cannabis experience has greatly improved my appreciation for art, a subject which I had never much appreciated before. The understanding of the intent of the artist which I can achieve when high sometimes carries over to when I’m down. This is one of many human frontiers which cannabis has helped me traverse."

Tell me Carl Sagan wasn't a genius.
